110 Cage Swap Offer

So, here is the deal, I just ordered a new 110 cage from ECR, but I really want a galvanized cage, so if you have a stock white cage and you really want a fresh zinc primered and powdercoated black cage, maybe we can work something out. The thought (and cost) of blasting and dipping a new cage is too much for me to bare.

Ron

Sweet. Let me know when you are coming down. It won't add that much weight. I just like rover chrome. I am dropping it off to Frank to do the bulkhead and t-pieces which are bare galvy. Some point I want to do the frame, but ....

This is a long shot swap anyway so it probably won't happen.

Any chance you are coming to Northern California any time soon. I have been thinking about going with a black cage for awhile now.

No, wrong coast. Shipping both ways would probably kill it.

Is a new cage and a 93 exactly the same?

To be clear, I would swap for a pre-galvanized one or I would expect a few dollars my way on a swap for a still white one.

90% exact

There are 4 tabs missing from the new ones for upper cross bars, but these tabs are for bars that were never used on the original NAS 110s, so it is just the tabs.
If you wanted an "exact" match you would just need to weld on the 4 useless tabs.

The cross bars inside the rear tub for the jump seat belt mounts are no longer supplied either.

The other thing would be that an original would usually have some rust and a new one won't.

I do not check PMs. Call or email if you need something.

ECR is not a parts source. We are not in the mail order business.

can't ECR tell SD to just leave the paint or powder coat off?

Ok this is confusing...

You want to obtain a SD NAS 110 rack in white. (with tabs etc)

You are trading a new galvy black powder coat one from ECR.

I would assume that each of the swappies would pay their own freight.

Is this the deal or are you expecting to be remunerated for something else?

Well, I think a new powdercoated cage is worth a couple more bucks than a rusty white frame so I was thinking someone would want to kick in a few bucks (basically the cost of powdercoating your existing frame) or I would kick in a few bucks to upgrade to a galvanized one. Also note, no shipping on this. That would be more expensive than blasting it.

I might have to call the police. I can't see that much metal being galv looking good. You are committing a crime against nature.

Are you building a 110?

I thought you were building a dormobile. Not that you couldn't be building both.
