Matt, sorry to see you sell it. If you consider breaking it off, I would be very interested in the Shrockworks carrier. I can arrange local pickup as you work with my to-be sister in-law.

BTW did you get the little care package from your co-worker I sent in for you at Xmas time?

Matt - Don't mean to hijack the thread but I'm curious, what's your opinion of those super swamper ssr tires? Specifically, how fast (or slow) have they worn down?

Chris - yep, I got the care package. Amazing how small this world can be sometimes.

And, unfortunately, I can't break the Shrockworks carrier off - it's kinda been built off the remains of the stock carrier.

Phil - Personally, I love the SSRs. I've had them since 2001, and they've still got about 70% of their tread left. And that's after lots of highway miles, too (driving to the offroad spots). My only complaint is their stopping ability on wet roads...but I have the same complaint with mud terrains.

Cool, no problem. If I was local then I would offer up my stock one, but I'm not down there yet.

I've reduced the asking price for my D-90 to $30,500. Make that $29,500 for D-90 Source members and referrals.

Will also throw in the stock Rover diffs and my ViAir 400P compressor (great for airing tires or filling the reservoir tank to actuate the McNamara lockers).

Yellow '95 For Sale - PRICE REDUCED

Well, I still haven't sold my D-90, and the clock is starting to tick. The wife and I are building a new home, and the proceeds from the Defender are intended to boost our down payment. Of course, that is impossible while it remains in my possession. Since the house is moving closer and closer to completion, I've decided to drop my asking price.

So, what was $32,000 is now $27,500 obo.

All the pertinent details are below. I should also mention that the D-90 just came home from the shop today with a lot of new parts - exhaust manifolds, starter, batter, belts, AC hoses, and she's running stronger than she has in some time.

Please CLICK HERE to go to the Autotrader ad for pictures.

  • I will also throw in the stock diffs, which can be kept for spares or sold

Per the rules of the board, I am letting everyone know that I have put my Defender up for auction on eBay. I have set the reserve price at $23,000, but will end the auction early should a D-90 Source member wish to purchase.

It is a good looking truck any rust on the bulkhead, bottom of doors or footwells? I am tempted, but damn Austin is a long ways away.

The only rust is on the doors themselves, by the hinges and window hardware. There's some rust coloration on the hinges, too, but appears to be on top of the paint, and probably just never gets reached.

Rest of the body - bulkhead, footwells, seatboxes, etc, is clean.

Based on a quick search, shipping from Austin to NC would run about $925. Probably cheaper than gas these days!

I'm in Austin and can babysit it for you until you pick it up.

I can't believe he lives just a couple miles from me and I've never seen this truck about town. Now that I think about it I may have seen it once in passing in an HEB lot.

It hasn't been driven much in the last year or so - maybe two or three times a month. So if you haven't seen it...probably because its been hiding in the garage.
