Chris, just wanted you to know I floated this by my wife, sank!
I thought she would go for it but after years in the 1994, she has mentally dumped all Defenders into the same bucket.
Good luck

I dont know whats worse Paul - a wife that doesnt dig your Defender, or a wife that takes it every morning. I can't get my paws on the thing unless I'm gonna upgrade it.

Sorry in advance for my ignorance, what are the primary differences between hardtop and softtop, (other than there were fewer hardtops imported.

Ht/st

Craines...I"m wondering if this vehicle is still available?

Hardtops have a different side window arrangement..ie: they rooll up/down into the doors...the soft-tops have removable sliding windows.
One can get a LR fiberglass HT for a ST but the window arrangement stays the same...also there is no sunroof on this fibertop.
Contrary to popular beliief, the HT aluminum top is difficult to remove and even harder to replace properly.

BTW they were more expensive initially, cost more used as they are fewer in number and '97's were all ZF automatics.

Damn George no offense, but enough with the bmw thing. Everytime I see a post to sell a truck you are trying to trade them your beemer. I think beemers are nice, just sell the thing outright or trade it to me for my disco, because I'm not letting go of the defender.

Hey Chris, consider a trade for the D90. I got a 98 D1 + cash.

83k, lift, 31in MTRs, RTE bumper, winch, sliders, blah, blah. Woodcote green. No problems whatsoever, driven daily. All mechanics maintained meticulously

Figured I'd try, sorry I dont have a beemer.
