I don't import these for zero return, 'because a board member is looking for sub 10k defender', well he can import one himself and it will be RHD even then. You guys are ridiculous, if you don't like the price then don't comment. You can't bully someone into giving their vehicle away, I'm sure its against board rules. I regret selling the white one as cheap as I did but since the buyer didn't back out I have to sell it, doesn't mean I will offer it up here for the same price if he did back out. I'm done listing cars here.
Again, good luck with the sale.
I wouldn't give up on Defender Source just yet if I were you, Asif.

Actually, I see your point. Sorry if it seemed like I was shite-ing on your thread. I was just curious about the economic market theory behind your pricing. Indeed, your truck, your price, and I agree it actually does look like a pretty decent truck for short money even at the new new price.

People say they want to see an honest vehicle not painted over for sale, well that's how I have been selling them. Problem is, everyone assumes they are junk. These are ex farm trucks, probably not even washed in years and Italian farmers don't care about cosmetics. But my experience is that I need to get them painted and prepped for sale to get the right buyer. There is one on ebay in Farifax, VA and bidding is quite lively and it will probably reach 16k, really not much better than the white one I just sold for 10.6k. People buy with their eyes, no matter what they say.

Who, this guy?
Sad that his D remains in the same spot as it was months ago. Someone needs to get it going.

Unless you are dumpster diving behind your shop, The Dro don't pay retail. In fact, he doesn't pay all.

I'd prefer him trying to find torque-flight transmission parts in a dumpster, better than having to tell him NLA every time he calls!

Pedro's truck is still not on the road because Pedro is in no hurry to get it running. He would like to but he also wants to balance the desire to get it running with cost. If he just got a 200 tdi and paid someone to convert it today he would be in this truck about 17k, a good price for a D90 LHD with 200tdi, it would go for more than that on ebay if the cosmetics were sorted as well, maybe he needs a nicer soft top for that too.

But Pedro's plan with this truck is to get it running for (quite) a bit less than that and that's his call, so I don't feel Pedro got screwed on what he got or that he regrets it, economically the truck still works for him if he did want to just pay someone to get it sorted. A 200 tdi sourced and installed can be done for 7k and he paid 10k for the truck including shipping to his door. He has wasted a few hundred on a dud engine so far but his money wise, its still a good deal for him. If he is going to go the conversion route, a 300 tdi would be the best option for marketability if he wanted to sell it on.

Well there you go, the forum doesn't suck that bad after all. Glad it went to a forum member and hopefully will see it on the trails soon. I sold my 90 here and am so glad I didn't have to go the fleabay route. You seem to be able to get ahold of LHD Defenders and market them at a very reasonable price which I think is a good service to the community b/c we are not all uber rich guys looking for a $50k toy.

Cheers Raub

Fleabay isn't bad either, its just that it costs money while the board is free. My next import will be a 200tdi LHD 90 but it will be priced at about 20k because they are 3-4k euros more to buy.

IMO, this *free board* should charge dealers who are here to sell cars.

It's much different than regular board members selling trucks.
