but the biggest problem you will have selling it to the general public is the unknown mileage. you can guess - you can est - but if you dont know you dont know. so 3 years and 30k miles later and maybe 75k miles - 25,000 is good money. (if you want my 2 cents) - you are best to sell it to a board member who understands that "its a defender". =)
You are welcome!

People like me should not be let near copley trucks. Mine spent the whole summer outside without a roof on it. Not so good for a 20k miles original, but just fine for mine!

But being owned by John Brafford makes if worth at least 10,000$ more. He is a legend in the Rover community.. Right Rico.

Thoughts???

That is true Kelly
I still haven't talked myself into selling it. I have fixed the little things like the speedo and a couple of trim pieces and cleaned it up and now when I get in it's like getting into a new D90 again. I will most likely part with it soon. It would be alot easier if it hasn't been such a good reliable truck (yes, reliable). Its been the best LR I've owned.
I probably will be looking for a CLEAN 2004 Disco SE7 to replace it. I need the room for the family and something to work on when I have free time.

Thanks
Rico

Or a fairly decent 110 that will seat at least 7. If anyone has any leads then let me know.

Thanks
Rico

Understand there are two schools of thought here, but given how utilitarian and spartan Defenders are, one would think that there is a large group of potential buyers that would not want to be limited to an auto (97'). These trucks are raw with 50s technology and deserves a stick to complete the package, but i guess the $$ shows otherwise.

I drive my 97 in town and its nice to have an auto. I think there is certianly a group that is in more urban areas (never get off-road) and like the auto and since there are less 97s than the 94&95's that may be why there is a small premium.

Still, the defender is made to be a stick. Its more in keeping with it's nature.

Thoughts???

I have mine up for sale at $25K ('95 SW). Good condition with 75K miles. It gets a lot of interest and questions, but no takers yet. Been FS for about two months. Good luck with your sale.

You never know! I don't have to sell it I just decided to sell it. I enjoy driving it, the kids
and wife like it and I'm in no hurry. So if someone makes me an offer then I will consider it.

I'm curious why the number plate has it marked as 1 of 500? Did they only import 500 D90s in 1995?

------ Follow up post added December 14th, 2011 09:22 PM ------

A little research and I found the answer - only 500 SWs in 1995 (or technically 510), though it seems the first few came with blank number plates, some of which were stamped with LRNA...
