I have a 2a as well, it's still a nice original truck.

I didn't say it wasn't, only that it's not to my tastes, but if I were to render a critique on it, it's a very nice clean well done Series III with a plastic dash, which means even though it's a very nice clean well done Series III, I prefer a Land Rover with a metal dash, but it looks good for a truck I wouldn't want to own.

Are not the Rules such that you don't shit on other peoples posts? I don't get why some of you say the shit that you do. Makes zero sense.

Totally agree. I still can't understand why people keep doing this.

If you don't like the truck or the price, keep your mouth shut and move on.

Guess what? No one asked for your expert critique, or what you prefer to own. Dick.

OP, good luck with sale. Nice truck.

I think the price is excellent for what it is. Considering the condition of most (plastic dashed) ROW 90/110's and Defenders in this price range it is a much better option.

I know someone with an even lower mileage SIII and he said he wouldn't even consider selling his at this price.

BTW, love your blog and wish you hadn't left tumblr.

Wow - did someone shit in your wheaties this morning? This is a public forum, while I am not too sure about the rules of "shitting" on peoples for sale post, the comments made above are far from that. Especially compared to what get's said on other for sale posts, by vendors and individuals. Most everyone knows that.

Maybe you should read the sticky that says.. **Read first before posting***

Off-topic posts in for-sale ads
I'm going to start moderating the for sale posts more tightly to keep them on topic.

Its not fair to sellers when their posts turn into referendums - responses need to be related to the item for sale, and no insults, jeers, or opinions on price.

OK:
"are you willing to negotiate"
"please post more pix"
"nice rig"
etc

NOT OK:
"your price is way out of line"
"I had one of those and it sucked"
"F-you and all your fish-eatin' friends!"
etc.

If something is clearly a fraudulent sale (i.e. defender 90 - 5600, send cash) it will be removed anyway. But if you really feel strongly about something, start a new thread in the misc chit-chat section.

This isn't new news, but I wanted to throw out a reminder:

I believe Ron is also on the hunt for a metal dash Series in similar condition. If anyone knows of possible lead, pass it on to him!

I don't think the comments are meant to do harm or have ill intentions but I do think they pop up too often in the wrong places. How in the world is this guy going to sell his truck here through this thread now after what has been said. And on the other end of the spectrum we see someone post something for sale and a buddy of his will pipe in with strong positive remarks and the item flies off the shelf. I also don't follow the logic in razzing someone re a high price. Number one the market will take care of that and number two doesn't that help everyone if prices inch higher. The current market proves all the nay-Sayers in the past have been wrong wrong wrong.

GLWTS dude. Looks like a nice truck. You might ask that this thread be moved and start all over.

Clay

Dave Lucas, thanks for moderating and reminding people what belongs in a For Sale thread. If I were a moderator I would have removed those posts rather than posting myself and cluttering this guy's thread. I agree with Clay that this thread be started over, or posts (including mine) selectively deleted by you.

There are only a few rules in the for sale vehicles section here. The seller did not follow the rules (did not post a price) to begin with, and yes anytime you use the emodicon you're likely not following the rules for the section either. Ron seemed fine with all of the comments since I messaged him last night and he's been on a few times since then and has neither responded there nor here. Ron again if you'd like to start over with a proper ad, let me know and we can clean this up.

Guys, no harm no foul. Leave the thread alone. I posted this in haste and probably should have put more info in regarding price. That's why I put everything on my old blog. One place to send everyone. And yes I am selling because I am crazy and want an older Series with some character. But that is the life of an addicted Rover person. Thanks for the comments, they're all pretty much tame. Ron

------ Follow up post added April 3rd, 2014 01:59 PM ------

Forgot to mention, I'll update the ad tonight, thanks
