Selling my disco and Defender

Like the title says, I am selling my land rovers. First I am listed the disco, the defender will come in a couple of weeks when I dig her out of storage and get some recent pics.

I have a 2003 land rover disco SE7

- I bought this disco a couple of years a ago from an insurance auction at 86k miles on it. It had a bad motor. Since then, a complete rebuilt 4.6l motor out of a 2004 range rover was put in. Same motor, from what I understand the 2004's didn't have the same issues that the 03's had with loosing oil pressure. At the time of the motor install, I had the 2"old man emu lift put on with the new tires. Hankook dynapro 265/60R18's. A set of 5.
The disco currently had 133k miles on her. It also has been fitted with a new transfer case within the last 5k miles. An upgraded 04 t-case with the the locking rear differential was put in. Works the same as the one in the defenders. Technically, this rover is a 2004. The only thing missing that the 04's have is the different roof bars on top. I am leaving the thule bars on it for bike racks etc.
-It has an aftermarket drive shaft. One that works betters and smoother with the lift.
-New front brakes probably 15k miles ago.
-A full magna-flo exhaust system was put in maybe 20k miles ago.
-It has a ARB bumper with the 10k lb warn winch. Winch has only been used once to pull a mini on a trailer.
- Dual optima batteries have been installed with the solenoid split battery charging system. You can control the battery use from inside the cab. The aux battery is a yellow top optima deep cycle. the main battery is a red top optima starter battery.
-The two tone hood is painted on. It's not the decal.
- rubber land rover floor mats. Front and back.

Electronics - this disco is wired with the parrot blue tooth device with the display screen in the dash.
-I also had an aux input port put in for my iPhone. With an iPhone charging cord in the glove box.
- remote start with Clifford alarm system had been installed and works great. Has the option to automatically start the car and run on its own if the outside temp gets below zero degrees. It will run for a cycle and then shut off. I have 3 keyless entry controls that come with it.
- I also have a engine block heater installed in the rig. North Dakota winters can get a little cold. Never had a problem with this rover not starting up in the cold mornings.

That's all the good.

Now the bad.
- it does have an exhaust leak. The magna flo exhaust is all good and new. They replaced from the down pipe just below where the exhaust manifold connects the the down pipe. The gasket on the bottom of the manifold is good. There's a small leak in the 6 inches of pipe that wasn't replaced with the new system.
- passenger side rocker has a dent on the bottom of the rear door.
- large rock chip in windshield. I would like to say the windshield was replaced last year. It has but recently received a large rock chip. Luckily it's on the passenger side and I don't ride over there.
- rear bumper has some damage. Looks like the alignment is a bit out of place. It has been this way as long as I have owned it. I just haven't found an after market steel rear bumper that I like to replace it yet. It still functions so I haven't been too worried about it. The rear bumper lights works fine. Plastic mounting brackets are broken. I have a brand new spare light that goes with it. Still in box.
- small wear and tear. This disco is nearly 10 years old. I think it has held up great for being that old. Small dings and dent around the body but still looks sharp.
- service engine light on. Service tech said its nothing to worry about until its starts flashing. Everything checks out fine.

The 47k miles I have put on this disco, 95% have been highway miles. My daily routine is 46 highway miles round trip into town for work. I work in North Dakota and every 15 days I drive back to Colorado to be with my family. This has been my daily driver for about 2 years.

All mechanical work has been done by a certified land rover tech in Denver. This rover is currently located in south Castle Rock.

I think you mean technically this is a 2002 since the 2004 RR engine is totally different. Also transfer case does not lock the rear diff.

Technically it's an 03, because it has a 4.6, no CDL, updated lights, and thin roof bars.

from what i understand, same motor thats in the 2004's that don't have the same issues that the 03's had. Transfer case does allow the rear diff to lock. its the same style that is in my defender and if I am not mistaken the same that the 04's came with that allows you to lock the rear diff. If you want to talk to the LR tech that did all the work, i more then happy to provide you with his info.

Thanks

Ryan

Was a D1 linkage or an 04 cable linkage fitted for the center differential lock?

Also, what Joel means is that the T-case allows the center to lock, not the rear. There are 3 differentials in the DII, front, center, and rear. The 04 linkage allows the center diff to lock, giving 50% power to the front and 50% to the rear. The front and rear diffs are still open with the CDL.

That i don't know. I can check on that tomorrow. all I know it was an expensive upgrade when the stock t-case went out.

and it does have a clean title.

Oh trust me, I know that too! On yours(and mine) you have to put a new transfer case(99-01.5, 04) in, or you can just replace the front output housing which isn't a ton easier.

Well, my reasoning is that a 2003 se7 with a 133k miles, stock, books for 7,800. A 2003 se7 with 47k miles, stock books for 11,800. I understand the entire rover has more then 47k miles on her, but the major repairs are pretty much taken care of. Shouldn't have to worry about anything for awhile. So coming in at 10k I think is a fair price.

As far as tossing in a defender to sweeten the deal, show me nas defender and a dII for 10 combined and I would be happy to reconsider my price.

You should probably post it on the Discoweb.org as well. Nice looking truck GLWS.

Some of the 03 had the correct transfer case to install the CDL while others didn't. There is an indicator on the front of the case to tell. Luck of the draw for what the factory had available when they were building it.

It's a 94 NAS. Has 107k miles on it. #741. Pretty much a stock 90. Head gasket was done at 93k

Here is the truck build on it a couple of years ago.

http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...eferrerid=4716

I quickly realized after I got it put back together that I need something bigger with a hard top. It has been driven much in the last couple of years. It has been garage kept for as long as I have owned it. The last pictures I have of it were after I got the new top put on it. I still have the original soft top that came with it..

I can get recent pics next time I am in Colorado in a couple of weeks. Defender still looks the same as it does here.

What's the title now? Was it salvaged? You said straightened out the frame, was it significantly bent?

Licked?

P.S. - anyone know how long to process a 401K loan?
