Ahhh I think I remember seeing that on autotrader!
I wondered why someone would do that? If there's on thing you can count on, my truck will never have any animals painted on it! ha ha

For those who may be interested, I had a chance to look over Brenter's 110 and I offered to post some comments for him. While I am not a frequent poster, there are a handful of members on this site who can vouch for me.

Interior - clean interior with new front and rear seats with recovered middle seats. All show well with no wear. Headliner is old style with single dome light but recently recovered to match darker seats with no sagging. All new mats front to back with some form of sound deadener (not dynamat). Dash is an early version of the NAS 110 style. There are a couple cracks in the dash trim that could easily be replaced with available parts from Rovers North. HVAC is NAS 110 style and I was unable to confirm operation (forgot to check) but heat and a/c reportedly work. No radio but a "Tuffy like" strong box between the middle seats.

Exterior - This truck was originally painted in light blue (not sure if it was Arles) County trim. It has been resprayed to the color shown in Brenter's photo link which shows very well. Overall, a decent respray. Doors, sills, and exterior bulkhead were sprayed as well so little evidence of previous color but if you look hard you can find evidence behind some of the trim. Bottom door frames appear solid. Lower door seals are absent so will need to be replaced. Frame looks good and has some form of paint on rustproof coat - not Waxoyl and not gummy. Rear cross member looks solid but I did not give it a lot of attention. Hood was replaced with "Puma" style which appears to be fiberglass rather than metal.

Engine Swap - I am no expert here as I own gas NAS trucks but the TDI conversion appears to be well done. The engine starts quickly and other than a small puff of black smoke upon ignition, I did not see any other evidence of smoke. The engine sounds good (again, for a diesel) and seems to pull strong based on a limited test drive.

Operationally - Again, based on a brief test drive the engine pulls strong and everything seems tight. Original disc/drum brake set up working well. Shifts smoothly but I do note that the clutch requires significantly more pressure than my gas trucks. No power steering.

Overall, a great unmolested LHD 110 with a popular diesel powertrain legally imported into Canada. For Ontario residents, pre ’88 means no emission test required. Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions.

That is allot of money at 45 k without any details of what was done in the "resto/refurb" no doubt you have that into it or near that, but the fact is it is not a NAS truck (although it does have the NAS style NON VENTED Bulkhead), is 23 years old, and an ILLEGAL truck for the US market.

for 45 K I would expect a "new" galvanized frame (not a galvy job on what you had), and allot of new parts. You fail to give any real details about the truck, restoration, or any decent undercarriage shots. if you give some more backup documentation to support your price you will probably do better, althought the fact remains it is a huge risk to import and get cought and crushed, they are not worth nearly as much when they look like a "flat stanley" (only dads of young kids will get this one)

Jesse, LOL...well, you can always prop it up in front of a neat looking mountain or other scenery and pop off a few snaps of it. It'll still satisfy those for whom it's more of a fashion accessory.

No kids but I figured out what they were after I saw some kids taking a picture of one inside one of our exhibits. Stanley does the Holocaust...

You'd need to tack on another 7k for a gal frame job on that truck.. based on previous examples I've seen sell recently.

I'm interested... but only if I can find a buyer for my 94 NAS Softtop first...

hey, how about a straight swap?

I'm new to the forum and have a quick question for the forum regulars: My wife is Canadian, so would we be able to bring this into the US under her name and avoid the 25 year rule?

BTW, awesome site - got referred here by two Northern VA owners I met last Saturday (one has a 90 and the other a 110).

Welcome to the forums.

No. It has nothing to do with where you are from, but where it is registered.
