Price Check on 97 LE

Considering selling my 97 LE since I have hardly used it for the 2 1/2 years I've owned it. It's got around 90K on the odometer which runs a little high, 1/10th of a mile roughly.

It's a really nice truck, has a new set of bf goodrich a/t and a set of m/t off the rims with a lot of tread left. I swapped them out due to road noise.

Sprayed the whole interior with speedliner which will not fade. Truck has almost no rust, exhaust has a little and that is the only rust I have seen. The inside was rust free, I lined it to prevent from rust and tearing it up.

Brush Guard with 9k warn winch.

Four hellas up top, 2 down low, one work light on back.

It has a reserve tank but pump does not work.

Reason I'm thinking of selling is because I've got an f-250 and have no need for the 90 right now. I do alot of long drives 2hr, 4 hr, 6hr four or five times a month and I just never drive the defender. I also need to haul 3-4000 pounds of feed ever month and a half so the f-250 works much better for what I do.

Also for the past two years I had Lyme Disease and never got to drive my 90 like I wanted, never took it off roading seriously.

Checking out ebay it looks like prices have really jumped up there especially for 97's, just trying to see what I might be able to get....

Don't have any good pictures of the truck but it looks like every other LE out there

Asking prices are high, but where they sell is not. I doubt you will see more than 30k for it. The first thing I would do is remove the winch bumper and sell it seperately. Install a stock bumper, fix the reserve tank and start shopping for some willow green sills. Put that back to stock and polish/detail the hell out of it. Put carpets back in over the speedliner if they are not there. Then stick it on ebay.

If you decide to bring it back to stock and don't have your lower sills I have a set I took off of mine at 12K miles. I kept the diamond plate for future use but I still have the Willow Green sills.

I would think $30-$35K was reasonable if it's clean even with those miles. If I could convince myself that a 90 SW would work for me as well as the Range Rover does I'd give you $30K for it today...but it won't work...gotta either stick with a Rangie or get it over with and get a 110.

all things considered, Tim's offer is very fair. And you don't have to deal with the retail public...

IMHO, I totally agree with Dale, 27k is reasonable at the moment. Not saying you will make out like a bandit or anything , but probably fair on both ends. Ron couldn't have said it better, Asking prices are High, but sale prices are much different. The whole thing is, how bad do you want to sell. If your like most of us, you will sell and then regret it down the road, then come back drooling over other D90's. Good Luck!!
