This looks, to me, like a cleaner build than your's, with a longer Warrantee and 5K lower asking price. Not to mention it is being offered by member of the board that has been around a bit longer, but even so, it has been up for sale for over a month. Oh, and there is the reality that the KBB is only about 20-21K optioned out, in excellent condition. Which, IMHO, it doesn't qualify as, but that is just my opinion.

You asked..

Not to get into chit-chat in a classified but you just answered your own question.
The fact it doesn't have those makes it a cleaner truck for maximizing resale value. The more mods, the less it will fetch in the regular market in general.

Also, White Gold and Maya Gold are the absolute lowest resale value colors for the Disco.

I like the custom paint job. How much did that cost to get all that freestyle pinstriping? I'll bet John Q. Public will love that.

CVC is dead on. You would be much better off stripping half that stuff off, selling it then dropping the price.
Especially the axles, roof rack, etc.

In addition, you would be better off cleaning the crap out of it and only posting pictures of a clean truck. We don't need to see burnt amp wires, snapped diff guard bolts, etc.

I had about $44,000 invested in my D90, and only got $27,000 for it when I sold it. That $27,000 that I got was not a reflection of the worth of the mods, it was a reflection of the condition of the truck, as a truck- no rust, clean body, strong engine, new tires, low mileage, etc etc. Mods are generally the sellers loss. That`s the way it goes. Fact of the matter is that there are cleaner, lower mileage DiscoIIs out there for considerably less.... and in better colors.

That, and I suspect pictures of home brewed mods and hard wheeling arn`t the best way to sell a truck.

We all have a ton of cash in our trucks... If you can sell it to the right person, you will get what you want for the truck, or close. If you are getting low-ball offeres, strip the truck down and sell it close to stock, then sell of the parts for as much as you can get. Many people want to build up their trucks, maybe be not as extreme, but the majority of them are leary that they will be buying your problems. If I ever have to sell my ST, it will have to be brought back to stock or close to stock.

Good luck with the sale. BTW, why are you selling it anyways? Seems like you really like to use it?

If I had the cash right now, I would love to buy his Disco with ALL of the goods already on - less time and work for me to find all of that stuff that I already want on a Disco II.

BUT...I tend to agree with the rest of the Forum Gang that even with all of the add-ons, $25k still sounds a bit high to me. LRs (and SUVs in general) aren't selling that well this year due to the economy and people are bit leery about dropping a lot of dough when they're not sure if they're job is going to be there tomorrow.

I left a good firm in San Diego to move back to NY where not many firms are hiring. I'm still looking for that right rig, just watching my Ps & Qs a bit more nowadays.

Follow-up Post:

...After looking through a lot of his photos and seeing the minor rust on the chassis, the paint scratches, the rampant interior wiring, etc... I'd have to rethink that purchase price...MAYBE I'd pay $16k for it - not more. $25k??? No way.
Either way, best luck. I'd say strip it down, clean it up, sell it as stock, and sell the parts separate as most others say. Perhaps then you could get closer to your asking price.

This listing is almost 2 years old... Gem is not selling his truck anymore. Check discoweb.org if you are looking for modified D2s for sale.

Thanks Ryan.

Just checked. No vehicles listed in the past 30 days. Times are slow now.

I've seen this truck posted on Discoweb before. I think it was for sale last year? It's an awesome ride but no way in hell it's fetching that price. Someone's either been eating too many retard sandwiches or they just want to hear 'no' 18 million different ways.
