One-of-a-Kind 1985 / 1995 RHD Land Rover D90

The thread got a little sidetracked the last time I posted this, so I figure a new post is in order. Changes from the original post include better differential gears, the heater core now works, the wheel hub seals don't leak, all the LED lights function properly, and I was able to get the DVLA to flip the "exported" flag to "yes".

The Craigslist is available here, but this is the short and sweet:

1985 Land Rover D90
Right Hand Drive
Imported legally from Great Britain (VIN available on request if you want to check)

2.25L I4 died
Replaced it with a fully-rebuilt 3.9L V8 EFI from a 1995 Land Rover Discovery
All work done by Braddy's British Motorworks of Youngsville, NC, and Brewie212 of this forum
ZF4HP22 automatic transmission
1.22 LT230T transfer case
4.7:1 differential gears replaced with 3.54:1, thanks to cgalpin willing to trade and Brewie212 willing to put up with me "helping"
V8 Defender radiator with supplemental electric fan
New exhaust
Front driveshaft replaced with one from a Range Rover Classic
Secondary, 15 gallon fuel tank added beneath the bed with a remote-control pollak valve allowing on-the-fly changeover
LED indicator lights all the way around
Power brakes (disc front, drum rear)
Power steering
Engine has 35 miles on it
Truck has 154,039.

Hard top
Wolf rims all the way around
Lower door frames replaced
Mantec rear tire carrier
Newly installed and powder coated front brush bar
New Exmoor Trim "Denim Vinyl" on the front seats
Heated seater elements in the front seats

Known issues include:
Dash blinker indicator doesn't work
Bent door stop on driver's side, missing door stop on rear door
Door frames have rust on leading lower corners
Usual sporadic Land Rover rust.

Why am I selling it?
This build took too long, and our family's desires for vehicles changed. We now have an FJ in the garage, and nowhere to keep the Rover.

Presently asking $26,000, but open to any and all offers. No trades, please.

If you want any specific pictures, or have any questions, please let me know.

Blah. That's what I get for copy-pasting the old post and not proofing it.

That should read, "Replaced it with a fully-'refreshed' 3.9L V8 EFI from a 1995 Land Rover Discovery", not "fully-rebuilt". Sorry!

GLWS,
you say "Known issues include: Dash blinker indicator doesn't work"

I wanted to say that if you replaced all the blinkers to LED, did you use the wipac flasher unit?
If yours is as mine the dash flasher indicator is working just very very dim.

I am thinking a led lamp is will be needed in the dash as well?

Yup, we used the WIPAC flasher unit. It could be that it is very dim - I haven't driven the truck very much at night, but I will try to check next time I think of it. Thanks!

At Rocky's request, I've attached a few pictures of the electric fan setup.

Any one know if this truck would register in the 'loco' state of California? Where the tree huggers wipe their rear end with double ply Kirkland brand TP.

Linoge would you be interested in a 2006 330i BMW with 64k miles?

PM inbound.

I can't speak with any authority as to Kalifornistan, but - if I'm remembering properly - Brewie212 indicated this would be registerable in CA on account of a gas engine replacing the previous gas engine. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in .

Bump and spring cleaning price drop down to $22,500. The wife would very much like to have her garage spot back, so feel free to make an offer.

Craigslist ad has been updated to here: One-of-a-Kind 1985 / 1995 RHD Land Rover D90
