I almost posted the same thing last night. Saw this one as I was trolling Autotrader. That's one of the POE 94's isn't it? Pretty cool looking. If you go to the dealer's website, they also had an older series, a couple of RR and a LR3. Strange to be a Suzuki dealer.

No one is buying Suzukis these days.

If $25k for a POE with 141k on it is cheap I am a happy man!

Yea that is no ordinary Suzuki dealership that's for sure - the owner/manager must have a heathly auction budget and taste for high end cars because they always have several $100K+ used cars there.

I agree this is not cheap for what it is, I guess the fact that it's sub $25K asking from a dealership is suprising.

Kind of off topic but I saw this rover earlier this week. I drive 6 miles to and from work each day. How reliable are these as a daily driver? The wife gave me the green light to start looking for one.

A POE? Very reliable. 1994 was nearly 20 years ago though, so reliability will depend a great deal on the previous owner(s) and luck. A newer Honda Civic for the same money will be more reliable.

Go to the Defender Technical Info area of the forum and read the first 5 pages of threads for a good idea on upkeep and things that go bump in the night.

They're reliable but they require work. And the work they require can take a night, a weekend, a week or even a month depending on the job.

It works fine as a daily, but I would recommend a second car when the inevitable fix is required.

If you need a Honda - buy a Honda. If you WANT a Defender then buy one. You will be fine.

I have one of each. So where does that put me?

Wow, another green PoE in Charlotte. Suddenly I feel less special.

Don't suppose they have the original ST cage sitting in the back?

Matt,

I drove my old red '94 Defender 30-70 miles on LA freeways every day for 7 years. Other than regular maintenance, it was a great DD. :D

I certainly appreciate statements like these, as the only way I could justify the purchase was if it were a DD.

I currently drive either the 90 or 110...sold the wifes' car back in the spring and she took the LR3 so figured I'd daily drive a Defender for a year or so. So far it's been a blast and no complaints!

Drove my '94 as a daily driver for years in downtown DC. Beyond the usual rover idiosyncrasies it was fine.

I DDed a defender when I had a 2 mile commute. With today's gas prices, and decent commute and it will be cheaper to have a second car.

I DD mine 2.5 miles to work nearly every day. I travel quite a bit for work as well so have another car for longer trips (for comfort and to keep miles off the 90). If you have a short commute, it will be fine.
