He'll call back and say the guy backed out.
Your paranoia is exhausting. The guy is legit, I spoke to him too. Usually, scams don't involve someone taking the time to discuss a car over the phone welcoming you to come look at it. Are there no board members within driving distance that can go put minds to rest? Let's start with me, I am 11 hrs away.

Hey, just trying to help. If you found my 4 posts exhausting, I suggest you ignore them. You must lead a really easy, stress free life; good on ya. Like i said, not my money. I truly wish this to be legit, and if it is, it goes to a board member. I would offer the guy $40k. Next time you talk to him, tell him that. My folks live near that location in Idaho so I can easily have my Dad check it out....

You just seem awful concerned for someone that would offer a scam double his asking price.

I wish I could help but I won't be up that way for a month, I project it will be sold by dark.

Paid for it in nickels. It was between this truck and a Bentley Continental GT.
Did you check for duct tape?

Yeah I spoke to him on the phone - it has a lot of duct tape, especially on the bulkhead. But he told me it is genuine OEM duct tape that he bought from Rovers North. Something about 'the same duct tape ECR uses'... whatever that means.

Scam or not. The seller said it's mine if the guy from So. Cal doesn't buy by 10am tomorrow. Booking first flight to Salt Lake City. The joke may be on my but worst case it costs me a few thousands airline miles. Supposedly sending me more pics tonight. I will say that our conversation ended with him saying that he wanted $22-30K depending on how many interested buyers. Do me a favor and stay away!!!!

So the price is now sliding based on interest? I am all for making money but I hate when you have a deal and then the seller says they want more. That's bullshit!

I wasn't sure how to take it. He sounded "loyal" to the first buyer and giving me the 2nd opportunity at $22K. Who knows? Face to face is the only way to do business if you ask me. Otherwise you never know who you're dealing with.

I am sure he will pick you up with his bodyguard to make sure you have no problems with the breifcase cuffed to your wrist. In all seriousness whoever looks should take a taxi or rent a car and meet him at the police station to see the vehicle and check it out. Unless you want to accept a ride from this seller of course.

Ha yeah I've been in that situation when a seller has said "well so and so said they'll pay me $xx above my asking price" and I've had to respond "that's great - I'm a real buyer and have cash in hand, and will not be paying that amount, but will pay your asking price and can head out to you right now" - it's worked 90% of the time and the few times I've followed up with the seller, they never heard from "so and so" ever again anyway. Good luck, Jeff!

Maybe you can finally lower the asking price on your truck if you get this one.

I just offered him $40k in those dollar coins the Post Office use to hand out. Along with a half bottle of warm Dom Perignon.

This truck supposedly resides in Napoleon Dynamite country FWIW...

Seriously, I hope it is legit and you do end up with it for $22k. GL!

Not selling the 90. Was kind of joking when I posted it. I've had more people come up to me and make offers now that I put 35's on it. Weird. Anyway, I agree, cash is king. I have my conceal and carry so don't worry about me.
