Phenomenal cars. Certainly the most fun I've had behind the wheel - on road, at least.

The thing about the 993 that I didn't love was how refined it was over my 964s... I was very fortunate to get into the air-cooled cars a few years ago before they skyrocketed. Which allowed me to ride the wave and buy "better" cars. The truth is, my first one - a red 1991 with 160k miles and lots of character - is the one I miss most. But, I wouldn't have my Defender now if I hadn't sold the white car (40k garage queen) last year when the market seemed hot. Imagine if I had waited!

These are reliable cars you daily drive year round - especially in C4 guise - even in northern Vermont. And at the risk of getting flamed, here's some pix.

I had a '97 993 Targa (in midnight blue like the one in that picture - or is that black...cant tell).
283HP was a little anemic by todays standards, but yes, the car was a great blend of old and new. Air cooled growl, but it was refined and smooth compared to earlier 911s.

Awesome cars. Love the white 964.

Rommel what years are your 930s?

I was offered a 76 930 1.5 years ago for 65. It needed 25 in work. I was scared to buy it figuring at best I could find someone to pay 115 when it was time to sell. Another guy bought it, put the 25 in and the week after the work was done sold it for 215.

Oh well.

If I had a garage and didn't already have storage issues with the defender... I would buy this... 4 more years and I will have one
