1985 Defender 110 for sale

Hello Everyone

I imported my Defender 110 from Holland last month. It is in San Diego and is currently in craigs list and Ebay.

1983 Land Rover 110 Defender
Dark blue with lots of extras, side steps, snorkel, Sound system, sunroof, checker plate, spot lights, bull guards and alloy wheels.

This Defender has had a lot of money spent on it. It was my own which I have had in UK,Germany and Holland for many years. I replaced tons of parts including suspension and brakes.

The 200TDI turbo diesel engine is the best engine they made and was rebuilt by a expert in Holland and gives 30-34 mpg , it is designed to run on any grade diesel should find yourself in Mexico or Africa!
The interiour is in perfect condition and it's comfortable at 75mph.

Price is $37,000

5 speed Manuel transmission gives great power in lower and cruise mode.
Text me for viewing and test drive. Currently the Defender is in San Diego
Solid non complicated car. No electronics in the car so easy to maintain.

A few things. First if all, if they are your European trucks, did you import them and title them? In all the pictures I do not see American tags on the trucks. You can't sell it unless you go through the proper channels (I believe) Second of all; bulkhead, door bottom, rear xmemeber all need pictures, along with any problem areas on the trucks. I'm not a buyer but any and all potential buyers will want issues before pictures 40 ft away. glws!

1984 110 County

1984 Land Rover Defender 110.

Superb original condition 110 with original Paintwork and body. This shows the real condition of the Land Rover. The paint only needs buffing to make it look new. These original unmolested 110 are harder and harder to find in this condition. It has no rust or corrosion on the chassis. It's been exceptionally well maintained and taken care of.

This is my own personal car I have imported from Holland in July. I have driven it all over Europe for years without any problems. Never been in salt water. I had the legendary 200TDI motor rebuilt in Holland at a cost of $3000 and it's bullit proof. 5 speed Manuel transmission will give 30-34 mpg and this 110 will go anywhere! It needs a few small things to finish it off which I've ordered and I will include. Just had a new clutch and upgraded suspension.

Clean Clean Clean ready for a new home in the USA.
Price is $23,000

Email me for viewing and Test drive.

Right Hand Drive. Any state delivery possible. No swaps or dreamers please. Offers Invited.

Hi there.
Im not here to upset anyone, believe me. Im more into´being straight.. These are my own trucks which I wasnt going to sell but i´ve been sent to the Middle east now for work.

Im in Germany right now and I cant get more photos till next week, The titles I have not as its pointless to register twice, I have the documents and approved for Titles ready to go..´CBP etc..

But if somehow this is winding people up, i´ll easlly withdraw..

I'm not upset, you just posted these trucks 3 or 4 times in the down of a half hour, once under someone else's thread.

I'm picking on you because, even if it's true, your whole ad and basis sounds pretty scammy...

I'm 'European', I imported two trucks (not through CBP), they have modified engines, the blue truck has clearly had body panels replaced. And btw I'm in 'the Middle East now'.

Glws man, if these trucks are already stateside and haven't been seen by CBP at the port I imagine you're in for a lot of issues and eventual export.

Wtf: how many times do you plan to post these trucks?
Even if they are real you need to title them in your own name.
There are so many non factory parts on these trucks they should have been seized at the border.
That's assuming they are here.
Which I doubt since one is on a British plate and the other is of questionable origin.

I merged these into the thread that you started representing them both in, then moved it to the proper section of the forum.

A couple of things:
1) the person who's name the truck entered the US in has to title the truck for the first time before it can be sold on to anyone else. This is a requirement across the US, you cannot sell the trucks with the only paperwork being the import docs.
the owner/importer of record has to complete the legal process before the trucks can be sold.
2) this isn't likely to be possible in California
3) You indicate the trucks are on the ground in San Diego- congratulations. If the trucks have not already cleared US Customs, they aren't likely to. Part of the entry process is that you the owner certify to EPA and Customs that the vehicle has its original engine as verified by a vin decode. Both of your trucks have later engines that were swapped in. EPA and Customs are fairly up to speed on 110's @ this point. You may have been lucky but I wouldn't have shipped these to these US to take that chance. Again congratulations if they cleared customs.
4) the fellow in the video says his name is David and the truck is his and he's owned the truck for years but your name is Ryan Spain and you have owned the truck for years per your post here ?

He's in the middle east now because he's a Somali prince and is offering this great deal as a gesture of international friendship.

My honest opinion; either these trucks are fake (1), they were imported in as personal vehicles and mr Spain thought he'd found a loophole (2), or the poster here has no affiliation with these two vehicles and is attempting to solicit payment brogue inspection for some unlucky chap.

I might be incorrect on all of the above...

I agree with all you guys. it's crap like this that draws the wrong kind of attention at the borders and sort of casts a shadow over the entire Defender community. If these are legit, then get your shit squared away, title them here in the US and get your story straight.

If I (or the rest of you) tried to vet or "out" every shady scam or P.O.S. offering on eBay relating to Defenders, we'd need to form our own "task force".
I used to feel an obligation to comment on blatantly illegal/shady offerings as well as rip-off artists, now I feel as though there is enough information on this forum (stickies) and threads relating to the bad guys that if you're a potential buyer and make a mistake then you deserve it. The information is out there. Do your homework folks. Its my "the fool and his money...." theory. This relates to vendors, stateside sellers, UK sellers and onesie and twosie sellers like this. Now I just sit back and laugh most of the time, though I recently privately warned some folks about a certain '93 RRC being offered. It's hard to keep your mouth shut sometimes especially when there's very little upside for yourself personally (and sometimes tons of blowback). With all that said, sometimes it's nice to look out for your brethren (the ones who bother to do a little homework first that is).

Hey Pal, what everyone here is trying to say is you've got to get your shit together. Go back, regroup, get titles and try again. We're tough but fair and there has been a lot of scamming going on in the Defender community so just keep that in mind. Lots of lying, stealing, cheating, snitching and whatnot involving Defenders, so you'll need to excuse the skepticism.
Like I said, do it correctly and this forum is the best. Do it wrong and you're done.

If you brought these trucks in with 200Tdi motors consider this a glimpse into your future. Additionally California more than likely will NOT register your diesel powered trucks.

He speaketh the truth. California has no interest in diesel trucks. You wont be able to register them there for road use.

So take the trucks to another more friendly state, get your sh....... paperwork together, get them titled in your name, then come back and put them up for sale.
