These things are haunting me!! My first build about 20 years ago was a 110 with an Isuzu 3.9- and what a sweet ride! Bomb proof motor- gear driven front, so no belts or chains- ever!! Good linear power, and can be turbo'd easily.
Then add in the galley chassis...

Hi - 8500 - 11000 GBP Sterling (approximately $12,750 - $16,500 USD) for the 4x4's, the 6x6's are in the region of 17,000 - 18,000 (approximately $25,500 - $27,000 USD)

Including UK registration, service etc and delivery to the docks in The UK but plus shipping cost and any local taxes.

To give you an idea on shipping costs RORO (roll on-roll off) shipping cost for a 4x4 from the UK to say Galveston is approximately $2,000 USD

Nope. Aussies drive on the British side of the road.

Possible one of the most desireable Defender designs ever.

I don't think there is room with the big engine to convert either.

My build was LHD, but would have to evaluate after laying hands on one...

Interested in a 6x6 too. Think though it would be the 20% import duties instead of the 2.5% for passenger cars.

Hi - Conversion to left hand drive isn't possible with the Isuzu engine as the exhaust is right where the steering box would be.

We have converted a soft top to hardtop without too much trouble although it's quite time consuming as the roll bars have to be removed, the body cappings replaced or modified, the rear door fits either the cargo body where the tailgate was or the FFR with the fixed half tailgate as this panel just unrivets. Typically Land Rover try and use as many stock parts as possible.

There are a few 5 door station wagons but these are fetching very high prices, the majority of the 110's being sold off are either cargo or FFR.

They cruise nicely at 60-65mph - even though they are a 4 speed overall gearing is much the same as a 5 speed.

FWIW, my 110 (not a Perentie) has a 4bd1t and the same LT95 and 3.54 diffs. It easily pulls 65-70 uphill on the daily drive home.

One can easily turbo a 4bd1. Turbo manifolds were ~350 last I checked and genuine Garett stock turbos ~1000.
