haha I knew that was coming... the bright side is that the defenders cost a lot less new than Range Rovers.

Thanks for the replies.
I am in Oregon,
Tomorrow I'll be checking into local laws (Unless I can find out on-line tonight).

this guy probably has 1,000 emails and PM's to get to. His truck and price is squarely in the sweet spot.

TJ do you INTEND to register/title this truck? Any reason why you haven't done so in the year it's been in the US already?

I am sorry, it could be my fault.
TJ said that that he drove the car only off road in the United states. I misunderstood him.. it could be maybe because he is not able to register it yet.

SALE PENDING ON THIS VEHICLE.
All, Thanks for all of your questions. Truck is pending sale but I will still try and answer some. It is rust free in all of the important areas, and pretty much everywhere else. Expected surface rust for a vehicle its age, but again, very little. It is a pretty much um-molested original 1985 left hand drive that was originally imported to Germany, but at some point ended up in Estonia where I purchased it. It was a daily driver in for me there for two years. Not much need for speed is Tallinn. Here, with the no power 4Cyl, non-turbo, diesel engine... you get 55 MPH down hill, leaning forward with a tailwind. Trailered it once to a to off road and camp, and there are a couple of farms near my house where I would ring it out. Foolish to pay tax and registration fees if not willing to put on the road. All US Customs and EPA paperwork checked twice and cleared (once via the US Embassy where I worked and once upon import the U.S.) Thanks for all of your questions. The dude is getting this truck is getting a hell of a deal and I am glad, he is a nice guy who is going to greatly appreciate it.

X2, Thanks for following up. I loved your description of a 4cyl diesel's performance. "Lean Forward" that's excellent.
