Kinda miss my old D-90, anyone want to trade?

I have a hot rod Audi that's had TONS of work done to it. Heck, the bodywork alone would run you $20k. It's a little rough now, but crazy fast and a great car. Anyone interested?

https://picasaweb.google.com/1001923...08507601733330

I was the original creator of D-90.com, a moment of weakness brought me here today. Does anyone know whatever happened to my old truck? I converted it to a truck cab and I know it's been converted back. It's out in CA last I heard.

So glad to see this site is still going strong years later!

It's cool looking at all the old tech articles I wrote and posted up all those years ago. Really brings back memories and great times. Wish I still had my old girl, those were some of my happiest memories. I spelled my name Chuque Henry back then, just to clarify who I am.

I recently built a minimalist bumper for my 90 similar to your original design. It works well.

Blast from the past

Chuck!

Great to see you're back... My buddy Dan(Green SW) and I(Arles ST) used to wheel with you when we were at the Academy in the late 90's.

Welcome back and good luck in your search- even though you were gone you still had an impact on the board!

Jay

Hey guys! Man the memories keep flooding back. Love that remake of my old bumper! That was actually some of the first fabrication work I ever did. I made it at Rockware back when I was doing web admin for them. Matt carefully guided me on how to make my design happen, but didn't lend a finger and made me learn on my own. So much fun!

Ah, I'm probably just trying to rekindle my lost youth. I just bought an old Porsche 914 a week or so ago. You can imagine the plans I have for a tiny (sub 2000lb) car that low to the ground!

I would love something like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/The-G...orcev4exp=true

I've been noticing a lot of 80's Defenders around now compared to before. Have things relaxed a bit so that owning a TDI isn't so impossible? I would have been terrified to try and register a car like that back when I had mine. Especially in a city that has emissions. I would be tempted to build up a 109" (pre-1975 is exempt in Colorado) if they weren't so crazy expensive. As my old British Bulldog shirt used to say.

"Once the proud possession of British nobility, now the transport of yuppie scum."

Or something like that. ;-)

Welcome back! Not quite relaxed, but the 25 year rule for imports has kicked in.

Q, great to hear from you sir! Been a long time! Oddly enough, I just helped my brother get his old D-90 back after it being gone for about 6 years. It required a 36 hour road trip bur she's currently sitting in my garage as we speak. I'm storing it for him until he gets her up and running again. So there is hope! I think my Red 90 ended up in Cali too, at least that's where it was the last time I saw it for sale.

What was the VIN & plaque # on your 90? I'm sure there are a couple of folks here who can track it down.

Man, again it's good to hear from you!

Chuck,

Post some details about your old truck, clearly someone on here knows something.

Year, color, accessories, badge number, vin and etc.

Who did you sell it to?

Welcome back

Welcome back!

I took a 8 year D90 hiatus and have been back for two years...trust me it feels GOOD!

(Formerly RoverOn before they purged all of the idle users...)

I REALLY wanted to find my old Black 1995...but found a great used red 94.

Q! Hey man, nice to see you on the board again, hope you're doing well.

There are lots more options for Defenders now than there were back in the early days of the site, you can find almost anything if you look.

Oh and thanks for creating the website, I can't even guess how many hours of my life I've spent here.

Regards,
Art Vigil

This is Chuck and his 90 in several of it's former configurations. It's a '95 in Portofino Red.

Wow, blast from the past! Q, IIRC there was a pic of your 90 surrounded by hooters girls...

I too have been Defenderless for a good 6 years now and starting to get the itch again. I wish I can buy my old 90 back.

Good to see you around...

Follow up: Will beat me to the pic...LOL
