Keith Gott Expedition D110 S/W

Hi folks
Not sure of forum, is it rude to have your first post a "For Sale Classified"?
Oh well, I am Canadian so, pretty easy going eh!

The listing below is pretty complete. let me know if you require additional info.
I am also kind of busy these days so please only inquires from potential buyers.
Pretty firm on $43,000 CDN. Looking to purchase a D90 NAS and have a 2004 G4 in driveway.

This vehicle was originally a 2002 Defender 110 Hardtop constructed as an evaluation unit for the Dutch military. It was decommissioned after 600km of driving around Solihull at which time Land Rover removed the drivetrain and cut the chassis in half. The body shell is of the typical civilian type with civilian lights, seats, and dash. Keith Gott Land Rover Specialists married the body and drivetrain to a 1985 chassis and performed a ground up restoration - as well as fitting numerous after-market accessories.

The vehicle is in excellent condition with original NATO green military paint, it features an extensive list improvements and included gear. This is arguably one of the best equipped expedition Defenders in North America.
The vehicle was imported to Canada in August 2003 and is currently registered in BC. Includes newly built custom Defender box trailer with soft top and roll cage outfitted for adventure tours.

New to the Forum thing as well and I don't think its rude for your first post! At least you have pics! Lol That is a bad ass Apocalypse Wagon if I do say so myself! But I'm looking for a reasonably priced 1980's Double Cab 110 or 130 PU (Right hand Drive) 4x4 Diesel with manual Tranny! I'm starting to think that i need to fly to Scotland and drive it home! I saw a ton for sale in the country side on a Motorcycle trip with my 07 V-max and fell in love with them and I seem to remember the prices being between 10K and 20k in British Pounds! But everyone on this forum wants $45K to $60K not sure what the deal is but that is too rich for my blood! Anyway, I wish you luck selling your beast!

Sadly, none of use here in the US can touch it. GLWS.

Funny thing Moparman: my neighbor also calls the 110 the BEAST and calls my G4 in tangerine the PUMPKIN. Everyone else just comments: nice Jeep

I have some additional pics of the custom Defender box (tub) trailer with soft top, just need to load. The trailer box was a MOD in clean shape from Alberta, I just added the soft top from D110 and rear door. Original ad needs to reflect trailer as an additional item NOT included in the price. Trailer price please add $2500CDN. Sorry for any confusion to listing.

Just to add some history to the truck: The truck was imported and I purchased the truck as a Soft Top as listed on the VIN code tag. The original importer built truck in UK with Keith Gott services as per the last two pics taken in UK upon completion of build. A year later while working in the US where I drove the truck daily, I had an opportunity thru original importer to purchase the matching Hard Top and all doors from the 2002 demo. These items were stored at Keith Gotts and importer was shipping over a container of Land Rover stuff for a business here in Canada. Cost me $3500 for the spotless 2002 Hard top and rear door, unfortunate though as the two full front doors went missing?? No doubt I was upset.

I may also break-out the OEM new spare Turbo Charger assy for sale separately.

FYI: I am still dealing on a NAS D-90 and thought that if anyone wanted to Trade Defenders I would be interested in NAS D-90 clean. I purchased both Land Rovers sight unseen over the internet and have no regrets. The original builder was reputable and I guess the dealer was also kinda reputable.
FYI: the Defender was also listed on Keith Gotts main page website for a number of years, I still have capture of webpage. The build was to be a knock-off of the Tomb Raider edition, thus the uTube of Angelia my old shag

Wow man you have done some work and your homework! I love that thing! I wish I could afford that but unfortunately I will have to build my own. But I want to express how awesome I think your Rig is! Why are you selling it again? I really love the fold out tent on top! Where in Canada are you located?

Thanks Michael.

Did you see the porn pics I posted in "no pics" thread?

Its been a great solid truck over the 10 years that I have owned.
I am no longer interested in doing outdoor adventure tours and a full expedition defender is no longer required, so I am dealing on a D90 NAS (North American Spec) model, more of a daily rural driver. Plus I have the G4 which I bought new about 8 years ago. Solid truck also.

British Columbia is about the best place on earth for touring around in a Land Rover.

FYI: The Defender should be able to be properly imported anywhere with the soft top. No alloys, no fancy interior, original paint, original chassis. But as I have read, you don't want to get into a pissing match with some of the local "experts".
Stay Safe my friend.

Sounds like the kind of vin swap we should stay away from....

Not sure

There is no VIN swap here.

The rolling chassis has the VIN as per pics and had some body panels replaced as a unit with the soft top.
Are you suggesting that the VIN plate has been swapped from one chassis to another?

So, if the body panels are not the originals you are calling that a VIN swap?

I just happen to be a jouneyman partsman and I call bullshit.

But please do make your best attempt to defray anyone from looking at this defender.

Truck was legally imported into Canada and registered and now that it is 25 yrs old can be imported into US. Troll on my friend.

??? You say it's a 2002. How does that make it 25 years old?

The body shell is of the typical civilian type with civilian lights, seats, and dash. Keith Gott Land Rover Specialists married the body and drivetrain to a 1985 chassis and performed a ground up restoration - as well as fitting numerous after-market accessories.

I am sorry Mr Chevy Chase for not pointing this out in my ad listing
If you feel this is misleading then I may update to reflect changes. The chasiss is 1985 restored fully with updated panels. The importer had NO issues with legal import to Canada and registration in both Alberta and BC provinces.

I stand firm that the truck can be imported in the US.

Thanks Jeff,

Again the rolling chassis (frame) is an 1985.
Please define what you mean by "original configuration".

The original config is a soft top SW, are you suggesting that any body panel changes/updates are considered modified?

PS: I worked in the US for a number of years while driving the 110. I inquired at the border crossings about importing the 110 as I was with a gal from US and was considering relocating from Canada.
The truck and paperwork was reviewed and OK at that time, 2005. Mind you the truck had the soft top on and I supplied all the recent importation paperwork which had completed.

Thanks again Jeff.

As stated in another thread I was a Journey Partsman so I am aware of VIN codes.

This truck, less soft top, is correct to VIN or It would not have made it into Canada.

Stock drivetrain, stock wheels, stock interior........

Vin

Thanks Jeff,

So I goes and check the VIN code and TAG shows engine as 2.5L diesel.

When I purchased the truck 10 years ago I was not aware of 2.5 diesel vs 2.5 tdi, being a FORD journeyman partsman.

Not much of a partsman I am I guess.

I promise I am a much better mechanic as I have fixed and maintained much on the truck over the years.

PS: I grew up with Steve Perry and Journey.

I guess we will see as most potential buyers are US and are only a few grand short of price.
I promise I will make this very clear to buyer.
Thanks again

Actually, Salmon Arm is a small town on the Shuswap.

The Shuswap is a large fresh water lake in SW British Columbia.

Houseboat capital of Canada with over 1000 km of shoreline.

Got a guest cottage if anyone is in the neighborhood.
