Hello Jim

On the valve problem International replaced all the (problem valves) at no cost to the distributors. To the exact problem with the valves the details were not given to me.
I do not know if any of the problem engines got out into the WILD in Europe. From what I was told when the 1 engine I had shipped it was recalled the day it left South America. Talk about a headache as it could not get turned around till the ship arrived in Montreal Canada.

The warranty issue,I have the engines priced at a no warranty level. As you know the engines can be cranked up to what 175 HP with very little effort. How do I warranty an engine at my price if a person does that? As for a 12 month 50,000 KM warranty on an engine that is rated at 180,000 miles (B10 rating) you are paying an extra 500 USD(ballpark)
I would rather see a buyer have 500.00 in spare parts for down the road at 100,000 or 300,000 miles.
As I type I have a gentleman wanting some spare parts for his engine. He has not given me the list yet I will ask him if he would mind the process being followed. That way you have a real life ordering and shipping of spare parts.

Thanking you for your time

Alright I am sure that would be of interest to many of us here.

Was there every an update on this? I will certainly need parts down the road, and would like to know.

dunno.. I havent needed any parts (knock on wood) aside from during my initial shakedown when a water pump bearing failed. Maybe we should make a list for HS2.8's . Maybe there is one already?

Danny Kim,
Interested in your setup, waiting on photos. I know your location says hell but can I have a more regional place on Earth?

Well, just goes to show you how committed I am to finding a 110 Def csw. Reaching all the way back .... with a lot of optimism. Actually, I didn't check the date... and will tighten that up going forward.

That problem was years before your engine series. I would steer clear of Cahill as well.

Oh the drama he has given us over the last year. I think he is cut off from selling direct but could be wrong.

You in Canada? Or CO?

Just wanted to close the book on the debate. Looks like the defense was withdrawn, and you have won. You are Pendy!

For now. Kinda like the Furians on Riddick. Until I show weakness.

Current problems are overmachined front covers for the 2.8l. I think your series engine just missed that problem Mark. I think Ryan missed it as well. A few others that I am aware of were not so lucky.

Anyway whats life without drama? Jones I guess.

And I stand corrected

Follow-up Post:

This is what we are worried about now. Check the timing cover drain plug for traces of oil and belt wear at oil changes.
