Out of curosity what drives the price up on these trucks? I guess I'm out of touch on what it costs to build one.
Thanks, VB

Cost to build, supply, demand, etc...all that good stuff. It's not really about the driving up of the price, as this price is cheaper than they sell/build them for.

People pay that much for these? I knew they were pricey but I guess I fall into the "don't get it" camp.

From what I hear they are pretty awesome...not had the pleasure to see one in action although I am sure there is something on youtube......give me a 110 AND a 90 and I'll keep the change any day...

FWIW, these trucks are totally rebuilt, every body panel is new, every bolt and nut. This is essentially a custom made truck from scratch, it just looks like a FJ. I'm sure they have every bit of 140k worth of labor and parts into them. Its like calling a stock car a ford fusion or toyota camry, looks like one, sort of, but thats about it.

Good luck with the sale, awesome truck.

Out of curiosity, why is he selling after only a year? This thing could probably last 100 years.

Great looking truck.

I also don't understand what you get that a 110 and a 90 don't provide... other than more exclusivity, I guess.

Good luck with the sale.

For what the ICON is I don't think it is overpriced at all and judging by the fact that they are still building them I'd suppose there must be some that agree.

As has been mentioned before, if you build a Defender from the ground up with all brand new parts they cost about the same......and can be even more if you try really hard

This is the TRUE icon of 4x4 site...a vehicle that has earned the badge of icon...not just a name someone thought up and said....lets piece together a truck and call it an icon...

It's apparent that you don't know what goes into these vehicles. Don't be like one of those Jeep guys who thinks Jeep is the only truck and everything else sucks. And yes, the Toyota FJ40 is an icon.
They Icons hand built from the ground up, not refurbished, built.
Go to their site and see if you feel the same way. http://icon4x4.com/overview/fj/models
Would I pay this much for one of these? No, just like I wouldn't pay that much for a refurbished Defender from ECR or anyone else.
Well, ok, I would take the FJ45.
