He's got that trailer that was for sale on ebay with a sw a while back too! If I'm not mistaken, that truck was bought by someone on this board.

200/ea '04 D-II G4s, and only a handful of '03 real D-II G4s, while only 3 '03 G4RRs in the States, and the '04 G4 D-IIs listed around $40k while the '03 RR G4s were mid $70s. Much more scarce than even the TReKs. Not justifing the price, just supply/demand, although I paid $52k for my '03RR G4 several years ago on MSO (orig owner) but it had a few thousand miles on it. Sold it for like money, in a way different economy/world.

I looked hard at the G4 HSE but in the end I did not feel the premium was worth it for orange paint and a tiny bit of provenance. Had these vehicles been competition trucks it might be different but they were dealership tokens that have no options that are not available to the public other than the orange paint.

The G4 Rangies that were sold here in the US are "real" competition trucks. However, they weren't kitted with the same equipment used in other stages (most notably, no winch). These were used on the last leg of the G4 Challenge that first year, in Moab. They were run through a dealer auction in California after the completion of that leg. I can't remember the total number, but a handful of '03 G4 Rangies (less than 7), '03 G4 Discos (all HSE's with low-profile racks and Sunroofs disconnected), and if I recall a few '03 G4 Freelanders. Land Rover did the same thing with the remaining '03 TReK Discoverys when they were through with them. You can usually tell these competition trucks apart from the standard trucks by way of the factory fitted fire extinguishers. True, the orange paint is about the only thing that sets them apart from a regular '03 Range Rover, save for the rack, ladder, A-bar, & LUX interior (which you could only get on a Westminster in '03). Just settin' the record straight.

The euro versions are better outfitted as seen by this example http://www.landrover-g4-vehicles.com...over_vogue.htm and most have plaques verifying their participation on G4 events. The US trucks do not.

I'm not disputing either of your assertions. However, if you pull the truck up in LRNA's database, it is identified as a G4.

Question 2003 RR G4 still for sale?

Hey Gents,

I'm new to the forum & this is my first post here! I'm a former 1995 Dico I SE7 owner & looking to get back in the Land Rover Club. I came across this thread since I am looking for a G4 RR or G4 LR3 (I really prefer the G4 LR3 (want 7 pax), but I don't think any US SPEC ones were made/imported to the US?) I would also consider a fully kitted out LR3 HSE7 too, if anyone knows of one for sale under $30K.

It looks like the 2003 RR G4 is still for sale at the same dealer in Alabama in this thread:

http://www.redmountainrovers.com/web...20G4%20LUX-HSE

It is currently priced at $26,800 over a year later from when it was posted on this forum. Any estimates from you guys on if this is a "fair" price for a 2003 G4 RR with over 65K miles or what you think it should go for in today's economy. I'm just trying to get a base for what I should initially offer and hope to get it for. KBB/Edmunds/NADA/etc. for a similarly equipped/mileage 2003 RR is about $19K retail. I know there were only like 8 2003 RR G4s made, so there should be a bit more of a premium, but not sure if almost $8K more is correct. Thanks for your help & having suck a great website/forum guys! I look forward to learning more in the future! Happy New Year!

Thanks,

Matt

Thanks!

I saw that LR3 online in Nashville, but it was in the $40K+ range which is too much $$$ for me unfortunately.

Thanks,

Matt

The owner of Redmountain is a member of this board and a good guy. Call him up and he will tell you pretty quickly what he will take for it. Its very hard to think with only 8 units made you will get it close to what a regular 03 is going for. He just sold a Camel trophy 110 for a lot less than you will find elsewhere so its probably priced well.

Is this an NAS 110? I kind of like the Orange 2003 G4 but I think the premium is maybe more like $3k, not $8k. It IS orange after all. If the G4 editions were black or white, then maybe even $10k would be fair. Just my opinion.
