FS 2001 BMW F650GS motorcycle

Not a Rover, but still fun.
Selling my 2001 BMW F650GS dual sport bike. 5500 miles (roughly, still riding it), like new, never dropped, or down and always garaged and kept in top condition. Gel-cell battery, some Touratech add ons (all stock parts included as well) chain guard, tail rack, rotor guard, hand guards, tank bag. Also has Dakar windscreen and front fender extension, single seat w/ rear storage (factory 2 up seat included). Red with new Cont. tires and all services up to date done my dealer. I bought it new and love everything about it, but am moving to a bigger bike and don't need 2 bikes. Cover included along with original keys, tool kit and sales literature. Gets about 57 mpg and is in perfect shape with no issues. 4500. obro
Email me if you are interested. info (at) eastcoastrover.com and I'll get you some pictures.

800

1200 is just too big for what I do with a bike right now.
When I retire and have time for more seat time I'll get something as big as a 1200

What gel-cel did you get to git in yours? I have a F650GSD and need to replace my battery, so might as well go gel-cel. Good luck with the Sale. I have about 30,000 miles on mine.

I'll have to get the battery number from the file, can't recall, but I found the info at the chain gang web site (F650 bulletin board).
30K miles... I'm jealous... I have too many cars/ trucks and the bike doesn't get that much use. I really use it as therapy. Nothing like a bike ride to clear the head.

A couple pix, sorry they are cruddy flash pictures, but its dark in the garage.

Sold my Dakar 650 in July to a fella from Inuvik, NWT, and he rode it home via Maine- great bike and great memories. Good luck- did you try BMWMOA?

Now there is a long ride...

I haven't tried anywhere else to sell the bike yet. I just decided to go for a new bike today. I have been looking at them for some time now, but wasn't sure if I "needed" one.
I'll end up listing it on other sites, but thought I'd troll for any dual-sport fans here. The bike is so clean I have no problem selling it to anyone. Nice to know there are some dual-sport fans here.

If I were to replace mine, it would be the 800 too. I am a member of the chain gang - not too involved but a great club, Sorry to hi-jack thread. Nice Tk-80's? I have a studded set for the winter - seriously.

Follow-up Post:

Oh yeah, you have to sipe the rear Tk-80's or you are going nowhere even if their studded.

I'd buy that thing for my wife in a hot minute if I didn't have so many other irons in the fire. Such low miles, I think that will be a great deal for someone.

Nothing like a nice present for the wife to keep the wheels greased for all those other "irons in the fire".
hint hint, wink wink

She says I'm not allowed to buy any more motorcycles until I get AC reinstalled in her truck.

I'm joking, no rush.

In the immortal words of Jim Cheney:

"I like to consider myself hardcore, but that does not mean I'm hardcore. I'm actually quite softcore, but if asked, I will represent myself as hardcore."

Winter storm riding tips:

1. Don't.
2. Don't.
3. Don't.
4. If you don't agree with 1,2,3 - use sidecar

The bike looks brand new to me.

Oh Snap!
I'm on it! (the inside joke here is that I owe JimC an AC system...)

Snow riding? I may be hardcore, but I'm not that hardcore.

I feel spring around the corner and want my F800GS, so the 650 needs a new home.
