Arrow Fs: 1995 d90 st #2213

Can't believe I'm doing this, but "Tessa" is for sale- 95' Defender ST #2213. Long story short- I'm in need of an extra 20 inches of wheelbase (D110) in order to continue enjoying these trucks as a hobby. Considered keeping her and just adding another vehicle, but here in N Arlington- I'm unfortunately out of real-estate.

The truck has been used regularly over the course of it's life with 157k currently on the odometer (8k/yr). It's been mainly used as fair-weather transportation, but there have been periods where I've driven it to work daily. A few times a year, it's seen "scenic" off road trail rides, but deep cleaned, detailed, and garaged afterward. The bodywork and paint is in excellent condition, but not without some minor scratches, dents, and dings expected from 19 years of normal wear and tear.

In the past 3 years alone, over $26k (documented in receipts) has been spent in performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. You'd be hard pressed to find one in better condition- regardless of the mileage. The following is a sampling of the maintenance actions performed, and/or parts replaced:

LR Windshield Gasket
Bridgestone Dueler A/T D693 II Tires
LR Sun Visors x 2

POR-15 Black Paint Kit (crossmember)
Galvanized Fuel Tank mounts (aka Ears)
Stainless Steel Hardware (Crossmember/Step)
Fuel Pump Replacement
Braided Stainless Steel Fuel Lines
Center Linkage Ball Joint Replacement

Rust. As primarily a Southern truck, it had very little rust when I bought it. The footwells had begun to show light rust thanks to the original acoustic foam matting (sponges), and the rear crossmember had developed a small hole in the center that was creatively covered using a thick diamond plate. None of these needed to be replaced yet, but as an "idealist", I knew I'd sleep better at night once they were taken care of. The foot wells were repaired (bulkhead is solid), and as you'll see- the crossmember was recently replaced with a galvanized version (w/extensions). The only rust you'll see today is superficial, with a few spots on the original bumper, and a few on the bed caps (easy repair if desired).

$40k

Several members have seen the truck up close and can attest to it's condition; maybe they'll chime in. Otherwise, I'm glad to go over the truck with any serious, prospective buyers: (eight five eight) 539-5307 or ross.simpson22@gmail.com.

Lastly- you'll find additional info and pictures on the truck's registry: http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...ad.php?t=48009

X2 on the cleanliness and I would not be deterred by the mileage given Ross' attention to detail.

I've driven this truck 200 miles (thanks Ross!) and it drove straight, no issues with tranny, tcase, motor, or anything for that matter. In addition, I helped rebuild the seat box and did some other work to it. Definitely a nice, well sorted, clean truck.

Sucks to hear that you are selling this... I definitely wish I had the money!

I was a passenger in this D90 after my Range Rover Classic was experiencing some "technical issues" due to my great off roading skills. So I can honestly say its a great one!

Thanks, Max- we need to get together soon, now that I'm in VA.
I think everyone would agree that you crushed it last year on the trails…

------ Follow up post added January 24th, 2014 04:46 PM ------

Quick update:

The third brake light bar (not pictured) is back from the powdercoater and will be bolted on this weekend.

Also, I'm somewhat negotiable on the price for a forum buyer. Spent a lot of time, money, and energy on this truck, so would like to be able to keep track of it.

Give me a shout if you're looking for a turn-key truck that you can enjoy as is for many, many years.
