Frame off Restored NAS Defender 90 300 tdi

This is the truck that Chris Cox started building many years back. I bought it from him in parts almost two years ago and basically took it apart and rebuilt it using his parts. I add a whole lot of parts to it along the way. I don't want to sell it, but I need something bigger. Plus I have found that I have a Land Rover problem, I just can't seem to stop working/adding stuff to them. My family time has suffered a lot due to this problem. I think I may take a break from Land Rovers. I just bought 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser (actually a Lexus LX450, same thing) with factory lockers, maybe I want be so addicted to it. I would have naturally preferred to buy a NAS 110, but then I would find something wrong or some rust and have to rebuild the whole thing.

The D90 is listed on eBay. Reserve is $50K. I have more into than that with just the parts, and don't even think about the labor. If you are thinking about building a truck like this, do the math, this is a great deal. Remember most of these parts are new...not rebuilt.

Jeromy,

I saw you headed up north of Dallas on your way to Utah, truck looked strong (I was headed south with a 90 chassis). Sorry to hear you're selling it, if you hold on to it for another year I'd buy it in a minute. Meantime I'll be building mine so if you have any more parts.....

For anyone interested, I've seen the truck and the quality and workmanship is outstanding. An ECR quality build for a helluva lot less and no wait. Just my opinion.

Keith

you really can't, I think that guy is still going to buy it, he was just afraid of doing it on ebay. He is going to fly out and check it out next week.

I am from the Fort Hood/Killeen/Austin area, and if you still have this baby when I finally get home from Iraq (sometime around the end of the year hopefully), and you are ever in the area, I would love to see the truck. I know Beaumont is a fair piece south, and I am sure I don't have anywhere near the amount of money that you want to get for it, but maybe I could at least sit in the driver's seat and honk the horn a few times. And who knows...maybe my wife will even throw her panties at the windshield!

Good luck with your sale! Texas Bump!

Jeromy,

Why don't you just keep it for a year and I'll buy it from you then.

You know Keith it is looking like that may happen. I have had a fair amount of interest, just no one has stepped up with the money. And for all those new parts and all the work I did I refuse to just give it away.

I had a guy yesterday trying like hell to give me a deposit for it, I told him I would think about it. (I really just wanted to sell it straight out) So I called him back today and said OK I would take his deposit, then he tells me: "OK we will talk about it when I get back from NY in Sept." That is the primary reason why I hate the whole deposit thing, I would rather someone just buy it. Seems they all want to give me a deposit and wait a few weeks to pay me the rest.

So it is still for sale.
