For Sale 1997 D-90 Low Mile...Aries Blue

1997 D-90, Aries Blue.... 31,000 miles. All original. Serious Buyers can message me w/ phone number to call back. Its very nice !!!! Hate so sell.... but don't have the time to use it. Someone should have it that has the passion..... and the time. $55,000.00 is the firm sale price based on what I am seeing low mile D-90's sell for. This one is a Saudi Build... unique "power windows" and A/C. Was brought to US... driven a couple of thousand miles a year by a wealthy individual on the east coast. Never driven in the winter... always stored in heated garage. Picture's are with my profile: tsnell01

Gorgeous truck! Love Arles blue.

In accordance with the forum rules I will NOT comment on the asking price.
However, I would humbly suggest that those "high water mark" prices you are referring to are set by very well known reputable dealers with true numbered NAS trucks.

That's Southport, CT, right? You must have bought it from Classic Car Gallery, as they always take pictures of their vehicles in that same spot.

Very nice truck. Good luck with the sale.

1/2492 or whatever
meaning that this offering, although the same essential specification as the NAS Defenders, it would not be counted as one of the 2,4xx (somebody correct my production numbers)

Small matter, but if I were offered two identical D-90s and one was a NAS and one was a federalized Japan-Spec or Saudi-Spec, I'd probably choose the NAS-Spec example. Maybe it doesn't matter at all to people.

Anyone agree or disagree?

For anyone looking at a collector piece I'd agree, and even more-so on a low miles unmolested truck...

Personally I'd rather not have a museum truck, or for that matter I'd rather not have a petrol powered truck - but that's just me.

I've purchased and own both low mileage NAS and JNAS Defenders and in my experience the Japanese are meticulously cared for to the point of being comical (one of my trucks came with two carpet sets as well as the Land Rover Japan Welcome Letter). No experience with the Saudi trucks.

I'd love to get some sort of clarification on that 2492 (or whatever) production number, reason being, as I understand it, any truck with a production date after September 9, 1997 couldn't be imported, hence the overstock of trucks for 1997 being sent to Saudi and Japan. I would assume that the trucks made between 9.9.97 and 12.31.97 are still counted amongst that total.

That's interesting I didn't know that (about the overstock).

No on Fleabay with the following description.

"If you are even looking at this auction, you know how rare this vehicle is...not only that, but how rare it is to have it all original. This vehicle is the less common hard top 2 door configuration that is listed here. To add to the rare bonuses, this model also comes equipped with the Safari roof rack with ladder. This vehicle was originally owned by Saudi Royalty "we cannot disclose please don’t ask " , has Air-conditioning and Power Windows, extremely rare. This vehicle was bought to the east coast before making it here to MN. The owner of this vehicle is a collector that likes to frequently buy and sell rare vehicles, so take advantage of this opportunity. The vehicle is completely original. Always garaged w/ heat and never driven in salt. This is the real deal... not a pieced together D-90, don’t be fooled. You can reach me, Jeff Wondra, at 507-213-6590 with any further questions."

I thought "Aries Blue" was a typo, so I just let it go.
Now suddenly its provenance includes Saudi royalty.....but don't ask....because we're sworn to secrecy.

You salesmen will say anything, won't you

If you're a dealer just say so.

Hey it's nice to run across your d90 on here. I met you this past summer in Okoboji. I can say your defender was in such perfect condition, whoever buys this from you will be getting a gem. I'm still looking . This is a bit out of my range but I feel worth what your asking. Good luck
