Yes,

We bought the truck with those tail lights, we assume the mechanic at Flatirons installed them. We took them out & cleaned them when we stripped the body for paint, but did not replace them.

I'd personally replace them since you can see the old holes in the body from the previous tail lights...

Now, that I've advertised it with the current lights, I'll have to leave them, but I'll definitely give the buyer the option of us switching them out at cost.

So it got re-listed? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=160098077480
The previous auction did not meet the reserve it seems. If you ask me, $35K (highest previous bid) is a lot of money for a truck that you are not sure can be titled everywhere in the US (probably easy in some states, impossible in others).
I wonder if you are not better off selling it with a V8 engine and then offering a no-charge conversion to 300 Tdi.
For more info on the diesel conversion and possible legal issues: http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...ad.php?t=10844

Good luck with selling it. You took the risk, you deserve some credit.

The way I understand it, the title and registration indicate it is a diesel. Once you've done that, I dont know of anyone, including CA that wont accept it. My knowledge is not comprehensive of course, but the paperwork is the main link in the chain. Individual jurisdictions are generally very flexible (or else why would my state WA have a provision for "Change of Motive Power?") - once its been legitimized by one jurisdiction, others will generally let it ride. I'm sure this process in CO was as simple as going to the DMV and filling out the correct paperwork. Everything is above board.

Smile

We feel strongly that most states will have no problem with registration of the vehicle. Our feedback on e-bay is 100% and is highly prized. We would assist the purchaser in titling the Defender in their home state & be fair with them if they ran into difficulties. We did spend alot of money on the D-90, but feel the value is there. If it doesn't sell, I'll keep it & have big fun with it this summer at the Land Rover National Rally.
