For Sale : 1995 D 90 SW 43k miles

Hi all,

I am seriously considering selling my wagon. I wanted to post here first before ebay, to try and avoid the yahoo factor.

1st... I know! pics! i will post some pics this week as it is raining, getting home late, etc.

I am third owner... came out of Lousinana (no.. not in the hurricane!) no damage.

this is a pretty original vehcile. has all the carpet, interior in great shape, intact, etc.. ac blows cold. everything works! exterior is very nice.. green.
has roof rack, ladder, front grille guard, lights, etc.... have side steps for it, but have not installed them.

Truck runs great. a fellow member on the board ( a "prominent" d-90 guy in the Annapolis area..... but i don't want to mention his name until i get permission) did some work on her.. new brakes.. master cylinder.. and a once over. has new tires.

have ALL original paperwork: window sticker, books, even the original tire warranties, etc

she runs great. I drive her alot thru town, up to Atlantic city, down the delare beach, etc. no problems.

I am embarrassed to admit how much i spent on her (it was during the D 90 "high" period a few years back), but i'd like to shoot in the 20- 25 k range. realistically, with the economy..probably 20k.

if my fellow D-90 enthuiest, who has seen the truck and know much more than i would would lke to chime in... good or bad... i have no problems with that.
why am i selling: I guess i am a poser. love the truck.. it's looks so cool.. always wanted one... but honestly, latley over the past year, when i go to an "event"/ "trip" etc taht calls for this type of vehicle.. i hate to admit i am using my wife's 4 door wrangler a lot more. auto/ quiet/ sat radio. i guess i am just getting old , fat, and losing my testosterone. call me a wuss.. i know it.. but i am not sure if i can justify paying the insurance, using up the driveway space, etc just to make myself feel better that I own a defender to only take to few Raven's games for tailgating anymore.

anyway.. i know i am rambling.

i will post a thread with the "facts, specs, and pics sometime this week.

Hey you're a dentist, right? I live on Kent Island, too, and know Doug - never seen your Defender, though.

And boy o boy do I wish I was in a position to buy it locally!

Yes. i am ........ the dentist....... but no yucky tooth stuff in the rover.

I don't know how you could have not seen the "green monster" around the island. It's at just about every KI football, lacrosse , and wrestling practice, tournament, etc.. and at Ace hardware at least once a week..... although, as i stated,.... the Jeep has been making the trip a lot more frequently as of late.

will get some exterior shots up asap. hopefully tonight as the rain has finally cleared up.

as to all the pm questions: the ext shots should tell the tale. solid, not modified. connistion (sp?) green. no diamond plate, etc. original tires. no rust to speak of.. but the drivers hinges look a little cruddy. not rusted up, but they look like they have corrosion, pitting? on them. that's about it.

the only thing "wrong" with the truck i can say is: the locks should be replaced, rekeyed:
the drivers side door locks (and unlocks) only from the outside with the key. you cannot pull the lock tab on the inside of the door to lock/ or unlock it. ie. the plastic tab does not seem to engage anything when it goes up and own.

conversely, the passengers side door only locks and unlocks from the inside. the key does does not work on the outside of the door.

the rear door locks and unlocks fine from the outside with the key and inside. it is ok.

so, to sum up about the locks... if you went into the city and wanted to lock up the rig.. no problem. lean over. lock the passengers side door from the inside. get out. lock the drivers door with the key.
to get back in: the reverse. the problem: if you are taking your wife out, you need to open your door first and then reach over to unlock the passengers door.. not very gentlemanly!

i have had a horriffic work week thus far. tonight and tomorrow i should have some more after work time. I promise i will return all the calls, pms, etc. I am not blowing anyone off, playing games, etc... heck.. have not even decided 100% if i am selling it.. (but 99% sure)

Ok, well I take it back. Having "Buyrovers" as a moniker implies some trade aspect to your purchases (not that there is anything wrong with that).

That is very fair. To be honest, here is the story behind my moniker. I work as a Senior Buyer for a car dealer during the day and one of my many hobbies happens to be rovers. So I put the two together long ago and its been the same since. Now, over time I have bought and sold some rovers for fun and profit and my name happens to echo this but in truth it was derived before I ever tried to make a dime on rovers.
