For Sale 1991 Range Rover

I've run out of patience, money, and time on this dream. Simply said, I got in over my head.

Up for sale is my 1991 Range Rover Classic. This would be a great driver once the transmission is replaced, or a nice trail rig.

137K miles
VA/NC car its entire life
Silver with dark grey interior
Engine runs strong
Leather is 8/10, nicest I found that was original
Hunter gun rack/dog barrier
All lights, radio, electrics work other than passenger recline function
No engine overheating
Looks like radiator and water pump were replaced at some point
No cracks in any glass
Body has no damage
Tailgate has no rust
Only dash light on is ABS light

What I have done:

Replaced fuel pump and both relays
Replaced driver side brake lines
Had used ABS pump installed
(all brake work done by Chip at UKMotorsports)

Replaced alternator belt
Put used BF Goodrich tires on with 90% tread
Oil change
New NAPA Gold Battery
New wiper blades

Have:

Brand new Y pipe with cats
Rear window shocks
New fuel filter
Another used good ABS pump
Rear light guards, need powder coating

Needs:

Transmission, currently parked with no tranny installed
Floorboards repaired at very front where mud flaps connected
Passenger seat switch does not recline
Fan/powersteering/AC belts will need replacing down the road
Roof paint faded
Rear tailgate flaking
Hairline crack in left exhaust manifold
Rear tailgate glass frame has some rust

$2,500 or best offer. Must be worth that in just parts. Just trying to recoup some of what I have in it with what I have done, outside of the tranny mess.

Must be able to tow away from Glen Allen, VA. Will assist in loading.

PM or call/text me with question...can provide more pics if needed.

Here is the link to my build up/restore..

91 Range Rover Classic "Silver Surfer" - Defender Source

Big shout out to Roverland Parts for supplying TWO bad transmissions, and causing me to spend $3,000 and still not have a working transmission in my classic. Yes I have had them torn apart by a new third party shop, and yes I have spoken to techs at ZF, it was faulty parts. There is a reason a rebuilt transmission is not quality for $1,116.00. Lessons learned.

No warranty on the rebuilds? Not talking labor to remove and install.

Parts only warranty. Can't risk another labor bill with their parts.

Had a few questions, yes it runs, drives and stops well. I put about 60 miles on the 1st rebuilt transmission before reverse failed. If I had a working tranny in it without much more out of pocket, I would not sell it.

Well I would assume you can get another tranny as a warranty item to include in the sale as rebuilt but untested?

This sucks. I used to always like to get my own stuff to save cash and pay someone to install. I went through three sets of power steering lines that leaked before I gave up and just let the shop get the parts.

GLWTS

Would be nice if the VA crew could just help you install the next one to save on cost. Would never happen in LA but I picture more helpful people by you.

Roverland Parts refuses to supply anymore parts so no more transmissions from them, nor would I put another one on anyone else. I tried to save some money on this too, but I really failed, but learned a good lesson.
If it does not sell, I will part it out, but that would be last resort as this rig has potential.

I dont get the refusal to give another unit. Did you pay with a credit card? Time to dispute it.

Found good used ZF, will be going in soon. Also replacing cracked exhaust manifold and all belts. Hoping to have her at Wintergreen.

Thanks. I'm going to pass on the modern wheels, I don't think I have ever paid more than $500 for wheels for anything, much less $1,700+.

My original plan was to get some freestyles powder coated, and I picked up a set recently. I also plan some LED replacements, and would like to find a near mint condition original hard top. I know they are difficult, but I've always liked that top. That's all on the horizon for now.

I have a set of free styles I was going to powdercoat and put on. I can't decide though. Also can't decide on tires.

I have decided though I want to add some huge spacers. Really set my truck apart.

Ever since I saw the Arles in Colorado with the black pc freestyles, I was turned onto the look. I am kinda over the boosts. I think the BFG Mud Terrian or whatever they call them now look great, but I ran those once on another truck and they were terrible on the pavement.

I'm thinking a big 10 inch One Life Live It sticker for mine, just trying to sort out where I could put it so it could be seen.
