feeler for possible interest in a 75 carrera targa

The GF wants her own D90 so she is going to sell her 75 CARRERA in order to fund the D90 purchase. the car is original but has had a repaint back in the 80s? I was told from the second owner that mount saint helens eruption caused acid rain and the car needed a repaint. The car has a 3.0 liter motor from a 78 911 SC but it comes with the original numbers matching 2.7 ltr that will need head studs to be usable. We can get this work done before sale and we would keep the 3.0 ltr and have 2.7 installed after its repairs. The car has 76k miles on car and it has the optional hard top, this car is not perfect but very nice and spends most of its time in a heated storage.

This car I would value in the high 20's and will consider a trade for a D90 with simular value. If someone wants more info P.M. for a phone number or P.M. me your number.

I have lots of paper work for this car dateing back to the 80s.

Youve gotta love a girl that is willing to give up her Porsche for a Defender. Hang on to that one-

Since when do they have grass and trees in Alaska? I thought it was all tundra and rocks.

Thanks Guys for all the comments! it really is a nice car,

A few more things I should mention is that the car is a full leather car meaning door panels dash knee pads etc. Even the RARE fiberglass roof has a leather liner which I have not seen or heard of another like it. The wheels are 15x7 and 15x8 numbers correct for car. S brakes etc. The rear tail is the original one to the car, This is a controversial model as alot of people consider it just a midyear car due to the fact it came with the same motor the s model did. There where 174 US Targa carreras built and this is car 146. it carries the 9115400146 VIN. Car can be shipped to Seattle in a enclosed container we just shipped a 69 912 to Wa. so can help with that. We will eventually put the car on Pelican and other sites but thought we would give this a try first. As we are not needing the money just want to add another green oval to the stable.

Yea she is a keeper for sure! She is on her second series rover now and loves them! she drove a series III year round till this winter. Decided the a D90 makes more sense as she can drive it year around.

I can take detailed pics but as far as I can tell there is a paint bubble on pass door size of a pea, As you can see from the pics the wheel wells you could allmost eat off of and the under side of the pan and front suspension is the same.

I should not be asking this, but what kind of D90 does she want? SW or ST?

Would like a SW but she is open to pretty much anything, we do alot of offroading so somthing modified is OK .

One thing she would prefer a 5spd. locked and setup auto may sway her! she is spoiled with my 4.6 5spd!

Man I wish that was the case! We now have about 290k in Anchorage alone, seems to be getting more and more crowded.

High 20's seems a bit optimistic for a 75' Targa, re-paint, non original motor plus shipping from Alaska. I'd be pricing high teens, you can still find early cars for that price, that's whats on the radar these days. Just my .02$. Plus its yellow. As you know the Porsche crowd is a fickle bunch. There are some hard points to sell. No doubt its a nice clean car though.

FWIW, I am selling my '83 911 SC with 151k on the odo. $4k worth of Griffiths A/C upgrades so it blows icy cold, 17" Cup 1 replicas, H4 headlight upgrade, and it runs like a champ. $15k.

Cheers,

Paul.

Paul what are you using to get a starting price off of your car? NADA priceing just curiose. looks like a great car.

I think this car being car 146 of 175 built in 75 will to the right buyer bring low to mid 20s. it has all its original parts and the motor is a numbers matching which is getting reworked to go back in car. It has the 3.0 ltr to be able to enjoy car while other motor gets work.

Shipping is the easy part put it in a container and send it south.

Cheers Ed
