Were you referring to the rebuild that Rivermike did? He is in the Netherlands not UK. Maybe he kept the wheel for originality's sake, just like the lift up handle doors and the ribbed roof. Only has a handful of actual svx parts on it anyway. Seems like a really nice truck though still, regardless of what it has or doesn't have.

I'm new to this forum (I've been lurking and educating myself for the past couple months), and Defenders, and I'm seeking some sage advice: If I were to purchase this vehicle, would I have issues registering it legally in Upstate NY given all the recent crackdowns on imports that aren't basically 'original'? Or am I safe since it's already been through customs and is on US soil? Any guidance would be most appreciated.

I can say that Mike's (rivermike) trucks are basically original, but are generally taken apart and things are painted/etc and then put back together (in some/most cases a new interior/etc and everything sorted mechanically). I haven't seen this truck in particular, but I'd go out on a limb and say you'll be getting exactly what you pay for - a very nice, original truck that's been restored (not rebuilt). You should be fine with this truck, just look at the "before" and "after". I would make sure you get a copy of all of the import docs that should have originally come with the truck, just for posterity (the current seller should have all of these, if not check with Mike or his agent/guy here in the states).
