I think he was at $39k, and that includes shipping...but honestly besides the 2.5NA let's see you build one for less.

Actually it has a 300 tdi not a 2.5.

Not sure the point of bashing a for sale thread was.

You're right, I missed that...so I stand by my statement even more that no one here could build that for the price...you'd be way above. And I also agree, no need to step on Mikes' thread which is why I too chimed in with my $0.02.

Philip, it is obvious you have no idea how much work goes into this and what parts we replaced.

New springs, new shocks, new brake rotors, new brake pads, new rear wheel cylinders and new brake shoes, new stainless steel brake hoses, new SVX side steps, new SVX wheels, new SVX clear headlights, new SVX clear taillights incl new wiring, full bare metal repaint, all new door and window seals, brand new factory headlining, 2006 interior retrimmed in leather, new factory tow bar kit. rebuild tdi engine, new watercooler and intercooler, new powdercoated exhaust system, new alternator, new starter, new stainless steel nuts and bolts, new front door cards, new black carpet set, new sliding window surrounds from a 2006. TD5 dashboard LHD from a 2006 car including adapting the wiring ... We have over 300 hrs in the car and are not done ....

On this side of the pond, LHD 110's are rare, and finding a good one WITHOUT a rusty chassis is even rarer..... we pay around 15000 usd for a good donor, not 1500 to 2000 UKP for a basket case restoration project....

I understand it might be above your budget, but we have LHD 90's from 9000 usd and I did just purchase a LHD 110 hardtop with only 51000 miles, price 12500 usd.

Looks like the truck went for $46K on eBay. Congratulations to you on a great sale, Mike! I just hope the new owner never sees that he could have had it for $7K less on D-90.

Mike, what is the status of your 110 SVX build? Are you fitting it with a 300tdi as well?

Can't bash a guy for making a buck. He didn't find a sale here and did what every good business man does, found a place to sell it. Mike is a good guy and does a good build. I hope that he stays around, the boards, regardless of what some of the bashers think. He has been and is a good source of LHD Defenders.

No way, I intend to list my cars here first, if there is no interest I will post them on EBAY.

Have been selling cars in the US for more than 10 years, mostly through Hemmings and EBAY.

Not all my trucks are expensive, I have some nice LHD 1987 Defender 90's for around 11.000 usd plus shipping and handling.

I know most of you guys like to shop on ebay.co.uk or other sites in the UK. Personally I prefer to buy LHD trucks, not only because the LHD conversion is not needed but mainly because most of the UK cars are bad, lots of rust in bulkhead and chassis. I rather pay $ 5000 more for a LHD truck with a solid chassis ....

We have to project on hold, doors and trim has been fitted. We can fit a 200 tdi or 300 tdi depending what the new owner would like.

Too many new ( LHD ) arrivals in the past week to, feel free to browse my stocklist

cheers, Michael

No worries. I was just curious how that works. I won't waste your time as I am not looking to buy it.

Wooof... anyone who has seen the prices on those SVX parts knows how much that must have cost just in parts alone.
