My response was " Please tell me what exactly is your bottomline to sell the 90 now "

Still haven't heard a response.

He seems like a nice guy that got caught in the silliness of the 1000 emails from dreamers like " I want, BUT.. I need permission from my wife, dog, spiritual counselor and those butt-holes called Loan Officers "

I hope he snaps out of it and capitalize on those 2 or 3 REAL BUYERS with the mula on hand

This sounds familiar to our friend in ID that was selling the NAS 110 for $22k. This guy knew good and well a $20k price would start a frenzy, unless he hasn't been paying attention to prices. I hate to see everyone so frustrated.

Comments like this ^ are exactly the problem

This particular 90 has a bad trans, idle issues , a CEL on ( that could be O2 or Cats, who knows ) and an inertia switch jumped ( those issues are to the naked eye and to the best of the seller's availability to see an issue / disclose )

so the original asking price of $ 20,000 is in the ballpark ( on the higher seats of the ballpark ) , nothing out of the world for the mileage and issues.

Gustavo, I think Matt was assuming that the truck is near perfect (and potentially a lifer California truck) and priced at $20k, since I don't think the things you mentioned are listed in the seller's ad in the first post. With one pic and a limited description, it would be very difficult for anyone to justify any price without additional info from the seller. No mention of the tops included, rust, etc. either.

1995 Land Rover Defender 90 / Yellow / Defender # 2964 / 122,277 miles

CONS
Left O2 sensor trips check engine light (Code 45). Must disconnect battery to clear code and extinguish light. Needs troubleshooting.

RPM occasionally surges after engine is warm. (Cleaned stepper motor) RPM cable adjustment in engine compartment requires periodic adjustment to eliminate surges.

Roll-over switch is jumpered. (No replacement parts available)

2nd gear servo requires replacement. RPM must be below 1500 to prevent grinding when shifting into second.

AirBorne - posting those pics probably pushed the BAFOs deep into the high 20s.

At this rate, I think I'm about to go with one that is closer to home. It's not the color I want, but I can't get a response from this gentleman.

LMAO

Trying to make yours more valuable?

Lets continue with the crazy comments, I am sure some inexperienced buyer will value it as such

Dear Mr. Attorney Josh,

Thank you for representing him. ;-)

It is exactly my point

Comments without foundation are what cause a "frenzy" not a price

As 101 pointed not his colour of choice, yellow is the colour that was mass produced (while perceived as extremely valued by mr upper 20's, it ain't , we are not talking Arles, beluga , monza, we are talking yellow), and some of us will buy it taking the whole package in consideration

It needs work, possibly a new tranny, so $20k is a fair price.

I will give the seller $1 above the highest offer.

I'm out. I just dealt with a 90 needing a new transmission and I don't want to get into another one.

Best of luck to the rest of you fellas!

Thanks for all the feedback concerning the D90. I will work out the CONS and get the price the vehicle is worth.

Ha! My first thought was "that's what she said"

I don't have my notes with me now, but I believe it was around $6k all in ... The problem wasn't just the tranny but what is also found when the tranny is pulled. In most cases I would guess a good bit more ends up getting replaced when there is access to it.

Nothing like a perceived undervalued Rover to bring out the best in everyone and bring the Source together. . CT Disco, Idaho 110, $20k NAS trucks, $1500 Roll Cages.....

Fricken Hurricane Katrina around this piece.
