Defender 130 Hi-Cap

With much reluctance, I'm offering my 130 for what I paid for it. Much thought has gone into this, but after the news my wife gave me around a month ago that we're adding another family member by next January, it's time for me to change it up. I need the extra space, as now I'll have 2 kids and a 130lb Bernese Mountain Dog. That being said, I'm open to two possible trades..... A nice D-110 or a built Disco plus cash.

The 130 is rust free, runs and drives perfectly, has approximately 70k original miles, and is very solid with the proper patina. Garage kept, Clear Georgia Title.

Seriously interested parties please pm or email me for appropriate photos, truck specs, and history:
kcalvo@gulfatlpkg.com

It's 1:45 am here, and I can't sleep from the thought of even posting this. It's a great, great truck.

$60,000

Unless it is a money issue -- I say keep it. A 110 or a Disco isn't going to provide you and your family with much more space. Throw a canvas top on that pickup bed and your dog has a happy place. Love the truck, GLWTS.

Wow...always loved your truck. Like Dave says, I'd consider a canvas top-or perhaps one of the aluminum caps-for the bed to give space for the dog in safety.

Thanks fellows. Keeping it is definitely high on my list of options, as I have the hoop frame, but no canvas tilt. I know the truck well now, as I take care of it myself. I've looked into ordering one before, but never actually ordered one. As you said, that would be plenty of room for Cujo, but he may as well be my 3rd son, and mama wants him inside with us, which I understand for long treks. if I got a 110, I'd be happy.... If I ended up keeping the 130, I'd live...

Heard of AFN? They make a hard top for the 130 bed. Check out this guy's build thread in the link below. It might be the ticket you are looking for! Good luck!

Agreed. I was going to say the same thing.

The Disco sucks as a family vehicle.

LR4 would be better than a Disco.

Or LR3 AND a NAS D90.

Odd...seems to work fine for me +3...& that's in the rather svelte D1.

LR3 & LR4's are Discos BTW...if this place claims 90/110's as Defenders then let's be generous with the hypocrisy....

I'd keep the 130, but an LR4 is a nice ride.

That top a canvas unit or odor Williams.

But you could probably get one made up the way you want

How are a 110 or a Disco going to provide more room than a 130? Keep the 130 and get rid of the dog.

Get a NAS 110 as it looks like you already have a 2012 LR4...You have some time to really find what you need. Nice rig though, good luck with the sale!

Could always check out these guys too;

Really neat backs and they make them for the 130 hi-cap. Can still keep the drop down tail gate too.

I would go with a fiberglass topper that is made for the 130 and install a pass through between the sliding glass in the cab and topper.

Put a nice dog bed back there and he can rest or put his head through the slider to socialize.

True. I meant the DI and DII's.

The Disco's 3 and 4 have more room and are more comfortable.

It all depends what he wants.

I totally agree. I would cover the back with a aluminum top and insulate it to keep the dog warm in the winter. I have a D130 coming into the country next year and I have a 2 year old, 16 year old, and a Bassett hound. However, I have a aluminum cover with a farm cage in the rear. I plan to put a back glass to keep the dog warm. I saw a website where they were selling a fiberglass cover for 1500 + 200 for each window that you add. Cheers-
