D90 opinion/price

Still looking for a good D90 as mentioned to this board 3 weeks ago...came upon this listing this morning (re-list) and have 2 questions for the experts reading this:

An overall opinion on the vehicle listed...
What do you think is the right price for the vehicle pictured?
What are the metal looking winglets on top of the doors? (can't remembered ever seeing this)

It just happened that I am flying to Chicago tomorrow, so I could check the vehicle on Saturday...

Thanks for the expertise.

Law Auto Group bought a member's truck a few months ago - they buy from a 3rd party company that calls the owner of the truck and tells them they'll be buying and using the car for personal use (Dave or something from NYC is the one who says this), pick the truck up, sell to Law, and Law then marks it up about $20k more than what it was last sold for after they clean it and send it off to have pics taken. If you have no qualms paying that premium then go for it. This truck has been re-listed at the same price it didn't sell for the last time, so it's probably not worth it.

Ah, really? Wow it looks different now! Good catch. In that case, this used to be jorge's truck (that's his username here, too) here in NYC and I thought the odometer had been replaced at some point, but it doesn't seem to show it on the AutoCheck, so I could be wrong there. It used to have a dinosaur T-rex painted on the side (the dude who bought it from the LR dealer jorge traded it into did it) until last I saw it.

It was a way cooler truck back when T-rex was on the sides, though.

What I'm looking for is a D90 in clean shape without the accessories as I will never use them.
I respect what you guys do with the truck in the mountains, off road etc...but this will be to carry my surfboards, paddle boards and kids gear to the beach in So Cal.
I want the D90 to be as close to stock as possible, don't need bars, racks, tools, ladders etc..all over it, don't even want added rhino bars, lights etc...

Don't really need a top expect a soft top of some kind (just in case)
94/95 would be ideal but 97 will do.
Any color but yellow.
A good clean bill of health and basic TLC required.

I appreciate everyone's help, I have time for the right rig

Were you the Burton sales guy for all those years? If so, that must of been a fun gig!

Who owned this truck in Ashburn? Surprised none of the Northern VA guys have commented on it yet.

I would recommend a 110 if you have children. It will be a much more useful vehicle.

Burton guy yes, did you ever see my green D90 back then?
In regards to 110, I'm buying a D90 open top to go So Cal beaches with my daughter, I drive a RR Sport everyday so I just want to have again one of my favorite toy of the 90's...

email me at sorth@wmbob.com I green 94 D90 soft top that I am getting ready to sell. It has a rack but can be removed and the stock bumper is sitting next to it. I can replace that also.
