Man.............that 911 sounds really nice. I am an original owner of a 1993 911 RS America, and a 1995 Defender 90. I do not plan to sell either...........and am deeply in love with both - the cars themselves and the heritage behind them.............

I hate to say this on this board.........but if I HAD to sell one of them............It would be the Defender. Porsche is in fantastic shape, always garage kept. Defender has always been out in the driveway. I believe down the road, it will be the Defender that causes me more problems..........And my love of Porsches go just a bit deeper.

That said.......I have no plans to sell either.

But I just wanted to write and say that 87-89 Carreras in the condition that you describe yours to be, are getting harder and harder to find.........so I would think about selling it..........

Barry,

Yeah........it is #248 of the 701 RS America's produced. It was in the first of 3 build groups. Rolled Fenders, Crinkled finish under the hood, no Sun Roof. Could it be a no-sunroof coupe left over from the European RS tubs? Maybe? Maybe not. But there are all kinds of roomers with the RS Americas. Especially no sun roof cars from the first batch. Part of the fun of owning a RS America.

What was the cheaper 911 over a C2 in 1993..........the back to basics 911........is now the more expensive, rarer one own. I have loved Porsche since I was very little. This is my dream car.

The car is awesome. Triple Black. Have taken my time and modified it very slowly over the years. Modified the engine a bit. Lowered, with a coil over suspension. Stainless Steel 4 point roll bar. Shock tower brace up front. I have owned it now for 17+ years. Have done schools at the track. Autocrossing. Fun Ralleys with my wife. Concourses. Drive and dines. Met tons of friends.

This particular car actually rolled off the assembly line on my birthday.......

I am never selling the RS........I can post a picture - but is this not the D90 page??

Later,
Flagg

If I sold it outright, my wife would kill me for another purchase, its easier this way. You guys know how that works.

I had a 91 and a 93 C2 turbo both in black with the supple leather sport seats. To date of all the cars I have owned, those were my favorites. Playing @ 140-160 mph and playing in the mud with a Tdi are worlds apart but lost it in a turn @ triple digit speed and lived so now I play with diesels. Best of luck with the trade/sale- love 911's.

wow...a real rs. Thats killer. Its funny how many Land Rover guys also have the porsche bug....they have a very similar following. LR's and Pcars are the only brand of vehicles Ive owned for the last 10 years....here's my other hobby...
2001 turbo, 550hp, Bilsteins, GT3 seats, cage etc.

I guess I have the Porsche bug too. I'm on my 17th Porsche ranging from an early spyder to 996 cabriolet. Thinking of getting a 2005 cabriolet next. IMHO, having a 110 and a Porsche are so opposite that it's perfection. I drive them both equally. As much as I want to try a cayenne turbo, I can't get myself to like the appearance.

I am the proud owner of a Defender & a 1988 911 targa. I actually had the targa up for sale twice, but kept on to it because it didn't feel right to sell it!

When the RS America came out I think I made $2400 for the entire year. I wanted it so damn bad. There was one kid in my college with one. Damn bastard. There was also a kid with a 110 and one with a 90. The only solace I have is knowing that all three must be so rusted it is insane since I went to college in western mass.

Not smart putting your college kid in a porsche. I certainly rather have them in a 110.
