And always represented on behalf of "really rich" people - whatever that's supposed to mean. The "wealthy" people I know are usually pretty intelligent as well, and have an agent act on their behalf when purchasing cars they know nothing about. Just sayin'. "Really rich" is never an excuse for na´vetÚ.

I spoke with the previous owner of this truck last year. He had it listed on Autotrader for what seemed like years. Nice guy who spent a ton of money on the truck but was delusional about what he was going to get for it.

If this is the same truck, I believe it had a Nissan diesel in it at one point.

Oh yeah I believe it's re-vin'd as a '91 Range Rover or something like that. Go figure.

That's correct. It does have a '91 RRC ECM in it.

It's unfortunate but as you've probably learned this forum has become the wrong place to ask for advice on this issue, especially if you are trying to sell. Seems the only way to keep the chatter down is if you low-ball yourself up front. Don't know why that changes things but it kinda seems like it does.

Publically revealing the details was admirable, especially after being cheated like that but it may have depreciated your market and chances of selling it.

In this situation the way out may be using legal channels and work it out with the seller. I'm not an attorney but if your friend transfers the title, as the prior seller did to your firend, in a vehicle sales transaction he may be digging a bigger costly whole for himself.

I know that if I was selling this truck on this forum, the first thing I would do is put all of the useful contact information for myself as the seller into the first post on this thread (e-mail, phone, etc. if desired). Also include all of the photos of the truck and any extra information the seller thinks is necessary to disclose publically, and then ask a moderator to lock the thread. The seller will be contacted by anyone truly interested in the vehicle and any "unwanted chatter" would be kept off of the listing thread.

I think some of the chatter is useful chatter, albeit per the forum rules it may not be the best place to post it/them.

It can be the same as perceiving the following as a threat or as useful information.

Kinda confused how the truck is a vin swap. When did rover make a v8 crew cab? Isn't this just a homemade truck? Now perhaps it isn't a 91 but when I think Vin swap I think of something different.

with awful photos

That listing is in Las Vegas... It looks awfully similar but it can't be the same as we are in Virginia. It also said the mileage was over 100k.

Okay. I wasn't positive, but thought it looked close. It's been a few years ago. I just liked the double cab aspect. I wouldn't mind owning one.

Anyhow, Good luck with your sale !
