Custom 2000 Disco 2 4BD1T diesel, NV 5 speed, trade for D90.

Sorry for my first post being a "for sale"... bad Noobie move I know! Some of you may know me from other boards or events. I use the same odd user name on a few forums.

I have decided to list my 2000 Land Rover D2 for sale. It has a 4BD1T Isuzu, GMC NV 5 speed and Rover LT230 with diff lock. Custom adapters from Isuzu Diesel Swapper and a custom transfer case spud shaft made to my specs by Novak.

This is a COMPLETE running, driving, wheeling, solid excellent truck. It needs NOTHING. 104K miles on truck (really only the axles and chassis/body left as stock) 94K or so on motor, about 78K on transmission and also about 94-95K on transfer case (diff lock equipped out of a '98 D1).

Motor has a brand new (less than 2K miles) Schwitzer S200 extended tip turbo, 3 inch full exhaust, brand new clutch/PP/flywheel/T-O bearing/clutch master etc etc. Amsoil fluids in everything. I have not messed with the fuel rate on the motor to match the larger turbo yet as I wanted to get plenty of miles on the new clutch for proper break in - it could be tuned for a LOT more power. It goes well as it is. EGT and boost gauges in the cab.

Custom dual core all aluminum radiator running G5 coolant, Tom Woods shafts F&R CV's on both with u-joint conversion rear, all new mounts, Greg Davis rear bumper, custom front bumper - welded and bolted complete with 12K winch. RTE lift springs, D1 rear spring perches, DBA rotors and Axis Ultimates pads. Stock thirds and axles for now.

Interior looks factory and is in excellent condition. Factory Rover clutch/brake pedal assembly and EVERYTHING works as it should. No lights on in the dash cluster, ABS and such working perfectly. Tach/temp/fuel reads correct etc. Factory glow plug indicator on dash functions as does the oil light and other functions.

255-85-16 tires at almost new condition (less than 5-6K on them) heated windshield is new.

There is a minor vibration at 21-2400 RPM and I am 99% sure it's too soft of motor mounts and will be fixed this week. It's OK and drives just fine as it is, but I know it can be fixed. That's the only issue with the truck. It runs and drives really smooth and goes great at speed or on the trails.

Truck needs nothing and I would not hesitate to drive it across country tomorrow even with the minor vibration. Recently took it to the "Winter Romp" and had a blast with it. Anyone who saw me there with it can vouch for the clean instal. I have had a LOT of people comment that it looks factory. Even the State inspection station commented that it was a super clean instal. On that note it has a week or so old Maine State Inspection sticker.

I have a HUGE amount of $$$ and time invested in this probably near $35,000 and I know it's never worth that to anyone but me - but now that it's done i am ready for the next project... mostly because my wife is itching for me to get a Defender.

So I would trade it for a CLEAN NAS D90 or older REALLY NICE '84 with 200-300TDI. Depending on truck I may take a less nice one and some cash toward the D2.

As for a cash price for the truck???? I will entertain any reasonable offers - i will not be insulted by anything at all reasonable - and again i know it's not worth what I have in it.

Lots of pictures available and i will try and upload some here soon.

I have a lot of info and build threads on DWeb under the same screen name.

PLease email me directly as I don't check in here that often. doug *at* desertboat *dot* com I will be happy to provide a phone number to any serious persons.

Located on Coastal Maine - will assist with delivery or personally deliver.

Thanks,
Doug

I have a few pics here: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=763708 and will have a bunch more asap.

PICS!

I also have several videos of the truck.

Keep trying to get the pics to show up in the body of the post.... not doing it so here you go. Me = Noob on the D90 board so I'm not sure how to get them to come right up.

Hey thanks!

Barn is my heated boat shop - I own a boat yard here on the coast of Maine. The huge all wheel drive International is my other toy/boat yard hauler. 1961 factory all wheel drive and only 8K miles, yes 8K.

EDIT: So how'd you get the pics to pop up?

I save them onto my computer, and then added them using the "Attach Files" section below.
Click on "Manage Attachments" and another window pops up.
You click on Browse and find the pic you want to upload, and bob's your uncle!

Ah - ok.

I tried that at first and the files were too big. When I saved them to P-bucket they were reduced so....

Thanks!

No veggie "conversion" - Last summer I ran used veggie (fry etc) oil processed into B100 with a full BioDiesel processor.

This time of the year I run regular old winter blend diesel from the pump along with an AmsOil additive.

Is that boat shop down the street from Easy Street by any chance? Near a small campground and the tiny fish market (can't recall the name)?

Nice rig. How do you get it past emission issues?

Nice rig, i dont think it would be possible for me to get it inspected in MA. all the inspector does is look for the OB II port and plugs it into the computer. If there is an issue he fails you.
But i would love to have it...

Desert Boat Company - I'm a one-off custom builder/restorer. And yes you are probably thinking of me, my neighbor also sells boats, lots of fiberglass white plain jane production stuff. Nice guy though.

As for the emissions it can be tricky and there is a lot of "grey area" I'd rather not get into on a public forum.

On another note I have a friend looking for a '95 RR 25th anniversary edition - the ones that were silver with black/dark gray interior. Must be really clean, and only that special edition. I would happily take a part trade and cash for my TDI truck.

Thanks all!

Special Edition Rover

Hi,

I have that particular Rover, but it is the 1994. So, slightly different console and dash, but it is the special edition from 1994. Black with charcoal gray interior. I would be interested in working something out. All factory items are there, including a serviced air suspension.

A buddy of mine has one a 95 25th edition RR, with 147K. Great shape except for some slight paint issues and a couple small dents, but nothing too bad. The interior is very clean and everything works. I think he is looking for around $6K.

PM if you would like his contact info.
