If he's a top notch finish marine carpenter with excellent skills in detailed boatbuilding I would hire him for a couple months or so to help me finish a project i have going.

And to reply to the '94 RR for sale - thanks but nope - has to be a clean '95.

Doug, I honestly don't know what his qualifications are. I did see his personal sailing yacht he worked on and it was excellent. I'll speak to him over the weekend and see where he's at.

Looking to get enough out of it to trade/buy a NAS D90 - can be higher miles etc. So price certainly on the lower end of the D90 scale.

Anything "reasonable in that range" as I am open to offers. I will not give it away though as I don't *need* to sell. I'd just like to move on to another project.

Thanks,
Doug

EDIT: rust issue - none to speak of. Certainly nothing at all on the body in any way. Frame has some surface rust, more toward the rear as is normal will be found but certainly nothing much of anything. The truck is far far from having "rust troubles". It is very clean.

Doug stopped by the shop today and the guys looked over his truck. This is a sweet rig.
If you want a diesel Disco 2 I don't see how you could do any better.

Good luck with the sale Doug and nice to meet you!

Thanks so much "ECR". It was really nice to meet you, and see such a great shop and super super clean work. I REALLY appreciate you going over all that stuff with me - saved me a lot of headache I think - I won't forget that.

Do you think you could say this same thing on all the other boards too!!!??? heh heh. Like we talked about, everyone loves it and claims they would LOVE to have it at any price but when it comes time to lay down any cash they all clam up.

I really appreciate your time today - Driving 2 hours home I kept thinking "why am I selling this truck?" It's so fun to drive. Then again seeing the D90's and even that older 110 made me smile.....

I would be more than happy to put a set of LR seats and all related stuff back there for you.

Doug.

Interested in a D90 for trade?

I have a 1997 SW, and may be of interest in a trade. Alpine white; 90K miles.

Also, a private discussion about emissions; I live in MA.

Thanks!

EDIT: Sorry - some how hit the button a couple times. And I have now seen the pics in your for sale thread.... I will be honest I am a little nervous that it ha s anew frame and paint. What's hiding under the paint? Any pics of the rebuild? I am interested though, even if it's the last color I'd have picked. LOL.

All the work was very well done. You should check it out and you will not be disappointed. The only reason for the sale, is that it was not well received by my SO, as it was a surprise. Surprise was on me!

Let me know if there is anything specific...

Do you have pics of the body before any work was done... if the frame was bad, how was the body - specific areas I am curious are the floor/sills, the lower bulkhead where the fender bolt on (the tabs that are welded to the bulkhead) and the area under the windshield seal.

Thanks so much.

Thinking it's going on Ebay and other for sale pages like Auto Trader etc. soon.... hate to do it, but if nothing else I'd like to test the market and reach a broader audience.

New motor mounts this week and i am pulling the turbo exhaust housing to try a smaller size. It could use a little more boost at lower RPM's.

Just an FYI: I also have Bilstein 7100 shocks to put in as well as HD upgraded 1 ton tie rod ends with really heavy DOM bars for drag and tie rod and may go ahead and do that soon.

Thanks all.

I have a rather low (but very serious ---> unlike many) offer at this point.... anyone else want to try at her?

This truck will be missed, and let's just say I am looking at an offer that is a quick solid easy deal - but not enough to buy any NAS D90. Anyone top that?

PM or email me if you're interested.

Doug

Follow-up Post:

Offer accepted, truck is SOLD pending final details and receipt of funds.

Bittersweet day.

Truck is SOLD. Transfer of funds complete and truck is being loaded for transport tomorrow morning.

I would rather not say what it went for out of respect for the buyer and my own shame! Actually it was a fair deal for both parties. He's getting a great truck at a good price and I had a nice smooth easy transaction with no issues.

I am now on the look-out for the next truck - what to get...... REALLLLLLY tempted by the Series hybrid "TDI guy" has. Maybe I should go down and check it out in person this week. I do have some free plane tickets to Boston I need to use by the end of the month, rent a car from there and go see that sexy truck.

Do it! That is a beautiful rig and if money and parking space weren't issues I am sure just about everyone on the board would love to have it in his/her driveway!
