Cool military trailer 4sale, not mine!

So i went passed this and pulled over to take some pics!
First thing that caught my eye was the fuel tank....and the lug pattern and wheels look like GMC stock!
Anyway....its on RT61 5.5 miles north of Cabella's on the southbound side of 61!

Sorry, this is in Pennsylvania south of Pottsville!

Yeah, that should be the standard 8 on 6.5 bolt pattern for the wheels. Never seen one with the fuel tank. It looks a bit rough though. You can find them in better shape direct from the military on govliquidations.com

The A2s can be had for about $300-$700 on govliquidations.com depending on condition. The one above looks to be $300 at best. I got a nice rust-free A1 from them for $350 a few years back. Fuel tank may have been for some sort of generator setup in then bed?

And before I forget, anyone need a good full set of M101 wooden trailer sides, for free?

you need something bigger than a D90 to tow them...they are BIG...and made for towing behind H1, so quite a wide track to them too

Rick Newman pulls one behind his Disco. Seems to do just fine. He even has his roof top tent mounted on it.

I pulled mine just fine behind my Tdi 110. The trailer was loaded and had a RTT on it. But yes, it's pretty heavy, even empty.

I keep looking for a M416 or Bantam (civilian M416) within a reasonable driving distance of Flagstaff, AZ. So far no luck. They all seem to be over 1000 miles away.

I had an M416....PERFECT for the LR...the Sankey of course is excellent...I just think the M101a is too big...don't get me wrong it works, but good luck really getting it through difficult situations.

Besides the M416 floats....how cool is THAT!

Yeah, they are big and heavy. The 416s/sankeys etc are much smaller and lighter. It all depends on how you want to use it. If you're hauling out to set up a base camp that's one thing, but if you want to haul it off road, well... you'd better get the smaller ones

FWIW - I found another one in Leesburg...I think it is the civilian version. It has the round fenders. I have to go knock on someone's door and see if they want to sell it for a couple hun'

That and they price them like they are made of solid gold.
