Considering selling the "movie star" 109" IIA

1967 Land Rover Series IIA 109" 5 door
6 cylinder engine w/ "Rover Drive" tansmission upgrade

Documented Film Credits:
Jarhead
War of the Worlds
The Unit
Travel Channel
The Kingdom
The Bucket List
Grey's Anatomy- McDreamy's personal car he uses in the show

The car was one of two which were used in these films but this one is the "close up" car, meaning it actually runs and is highly maintained as the other was used for those long shots where you can just see it parked in the background.

Its currently registered in CT as a classic car, and has a recent safety inspection. The only non stock item is the rear seat, and the paint is a special application for the Bucket List movie.

http://moviestar109.myphotoalbum.com/

Offering it here first before it goes up on ebay.

Not nearly enough pix to make any sort of wild guess as to its condition/value. It does need a set of sills for sure.

It might be worth 10-12k - the movie/tv history does nothing for its value.

If you're asking for help determining the value, I'll move this to the "looking for help" section, otherwise, you may want to delete "what's it worth?" question so that you're ad doesn't turn become a mess of people answering the question and offering advice like I just did.

I was originally thinking maybe 15k, but here's an example of the competition at that level, I couldnt tell whether your truck was as good as your truck or not.

Left out the link:

My roof could use some work as the headliner is starting to sag in the back. Its very reliable and always starts, it just needs someones attention to detail on this particular model. With the amount of rover's I have running around here this one I would have to say gets the least attnetion to detail, but the damn thing always starts on the first turn of the key, and gets regular checks and lube jobs on the lift at the garage.

I think $10k is probably closer to its value. The paint job hurts it IMO b/c it isn't the greatest and b/c the engine bay and interior are not the same color.

Also, although Jim may be right that the movie star past may not add value, I think it will help with the sale. If I was looking at two vehicles for the same price and same condition I would certainly go for the movie star just b/c its kind of cool to have those bragging rights when you're hanging out with other car guys.
