Built 1999 Disco II. Testing the waters

I have nearly decided to sell my Disco II. Not quite there, but I honestly don't use this truck as much as I should.

1999 Land Rover Discovery II
151,000 miles
7 seats with rear air. Rear seats are currently removed for added cargo space but All hardware remains on truck. I do not have the seats
Truck was originally equipped with rear air suspension but has been deactivated.

Rebuilt top end at 120,xxx k miles which includes:
Head gaskets redone and heads machined with valve job included.
ARP head stud kit to fasten heads down.
Upgraded cam with D&D 229 cam & lifter kit.
New timing chain & gear from D&D.
New oem push rods.
New water pump.
New oil pump gears.
New radiator.
Replaced fan and clutch with used but newer '04 oem fan/clutch.
All new coolant hoses and new TB heater plate kit.
Inline thermostat Mod.
New plugs and 8mm STI wires.
Never had any engine overheating or oil pressure issues before or after repairs, upgrades and/or engine mods.
Always well maintained and I have always run quality premium fuel.
New upper and lower ball joints about 3k ago.

Motor runs strong and transmission shifts great.
I drive this to and from trails mostly on freeway and easily does 75 mph.

I am the 3rd owner. Previous owner was another rover guy that owned it since it had 27k on it.
This has been a really good truck to me. It's been very reliable

Exterior:

Niagara grey (color) with common trail pin-stripping.
Minor dings and scuffs but no big dents and never been in accident.
Trimmed fenders F/R to fit 35s.
Front grill trimming for flush fitment of bumper and winch.
Rear lower quarter panels trimmed for fitment of rear bumper.

Interior:

Tan (saddle color) leather in very good condition aside from trail dust.
Headliner has common sagging in some areas.
Dual sunroofs work flawlessly and do not leak.
Windows and door locks all work fine as should but front passenger window regulator is slightly misaligned; otherwise does operate up/down.
No electrical issues and A/C has always been ice cold.
Original Harmon Cardon stereo equipment with disc changer in good working order.
Carpet is in good condition and has never seen water.

Other Mods/Upgrades:

Odyssey PC2150 battery. Actually replaced with the Diehard Platinum which is the same battery. Just $150.00 cheaper. Has massive quick discharge amperage.
ABS "3 amigo fix".
Washer bottle relocated.
Mantec snorkel.
Fox 2.0 shocks w/reservoir fronts 10"
Fox 2.0 shocks w/reservoir rears 11"
E.E. extended steel braided brake lines.
E.E. extended ABS lines (slickrock design).
RTE 3" coils front & rear w/1" spacer at rear.
RTE front shock turrets.
RTE front lower shock mounts.
RTE front & rear weld-on diff guards.
RTE adjustable pan hard rod.
RTE radius arms (castor correct).
RTE gas tank skid.
RTE rear bumper w/swing away tire carrier.
Rover Racks ladder.
G4 tail light guards.
Tactical Rover front high clearance winch bumper.
Hella 4000s (HID conversion) driving lights (2).
Superwinch Talon 12.5 k lbs winch with Viking synthetic rope (80').
SlickRock rock sliders (these are stout).
JKS quick swaybar disconnects (front).
HD steering links (.250 wall DOM) with 3/4" heims.
HD motor mounts (blr).
Tom Woods double cardan DS front & rear.
'04 D2 center diff lock linkage.
GBR built 3rds w/ 4.43 gears & thrust bolt for added strength.
ARB lockers front & rear (lockers activated w CO2 tank thru ARB solenoids & rocker switches).
Ashcroft HD axle shafts front/rear.
Ashcroft HD Cv's
35x12.50x17 KM2s (siped) on 17x8steel wheels w/4.5 back space.

I may have missed some details but this is most of it.
Feel free to ask about what I may have possibly missed or anything else that you may need additional info on.

Only thing not working exactly as it should on truck is heated seats, and I never cared enough to fix them.
Center diff has started leaking a little. Never enough to even hit the driveway unless you drive it for a couple of hundred miles and it gets good and hot.

Powertank and Hi-lift will not go with truck.

I am looking for the $8500.00 range. I realize the Disco itself isn't worth squat, but it is a very well maintained truck with a boatload of money invested in upgrades.

It's funny when you're like.. oh man I love my disco2. Then a truck like this pops up to kill your buzz.

Excellent truck, good luck with the sale! Very fairly priced for condition and modifications.

(Clutch pack blew up in it,I think he is like 4k into that with parts.), 4.11 gears, detriot locker in rear,GBR HD halfshafts in rear and GBR double cardon driveshafts 3" RTE suspension with the Bilstien 7100 shocks.. prob $5000 range, but he might up for offers. Let me know and I will get him in touch with you.

Hey Clark, didn't you buy some 4.74 GBR w/ARB diffs from me around 2006ish for a RR project? And did you get to use them if so?

Well well....

Yes I did.
Had them in a RRC heavily modified trail rig that I rolled one too many times (on the Fordyce - not too far from you) and eventually parted it out.
Really like both your rigs, but the Classic RR is my all time favorite.

UPDATE:Truck is no longer available.

Not ready to sell it turns out. Took a few ridiculous offers to make me realize it, but I will be keeping the truck for the moment. That's why it was a testing the waters post. Turns out the water wasn't quite ready.

Pictures and details on the 1995 RRC

http://s1274.photobucket.com/user/na...n%201995%20RRC

Truck originally belonged to David Rodriguez of Premier Rovers in San Diego.

The truck has the usual RRC idiosyncrasies. Leaks a little oil from the pan. Transmission doesn't leak currently because of the new rebuild. Steering gearbox seeps.

New 4.6 engine. Has about 50k on it currently
Transmission rebuild about 1500 miles ago.
David replaced the Borg-Warner main shaft when he installed the engine
3" RTE Suspension this includes all trailing rods, radius arms, A-link extension
Bilstien 7100 remote reservoir shocks
RTE shock mounts. Except front. Those are Disco II
GBR 4.11 Gears
GBR double cardon d/s front and rear
Detroit Tru-trac rear
GBR HD axle in rear
RTE extended brake lines

David had really kept the maintenance on the truck pretty spot on when he had it. That was one of the factors that made me buy the truck. Then my brother wound up getting it from me. It certainly isn't perfect, but it is a really solid rust free RRC.
David had the truck repainted about 5 yrs ago. Not a really high end paint job, but plenty good. Apparently it had gotten pretty oxidized and he didn't like it, so he had it painted.

I am sure I have forgotten some stuff, just let me know if you have any other questions.
