Hi Allan

I can't believe I am actually asking this, but where in Virginia are you and what color D90 strikes your fancy?

You-da-man Charles. It is a pretty car, but I'm not sure where the assigned value comes from.
edit: not that I have a clue to 911 values....

Hi Charles and Jim,

I'm close to Charlottesville. I wouldn't say any color is a deal breaker, but red is my least desired. The value is based on current market prices - there on the way up. I can send you more on the car and refer you to other examples being sold to compare as far as the value goes.

Thanks,

Allan

just because I like that 911 in green, I'd be willing to consider trading you the fine example of a white 1995 RRC LWB I have in the driveway, plus $1 your cost, for that 911. This is a limited time offer, and only because I like the green.

Is that the old mechanical fuel injection engine? With injection pump-belt driven? Man those were a pain in the a$$ to work on. I like those bodies but I like the newer engines.

Nice example

Is it a T,E, or S.

Pendy, if it is a T it has carbs. Through 1971 Ts had carbs. 1972 and up all US cars had MFI and then later CIS.

Wow,

I go away for a few hours and you guys come out of the woodwork.

Doug, thanks for the offer, but I really want a d-90.

Emerson, I'd amke an offer of 50 cents but I know that would be lowballing, so I'll have to pass. I had an '89 RR so I know what a good deal that is.

Jim and Ron, Ron is correct. It is a T which had carbs until '72

Tom, here is a bit more about the car: 1970 911T. Original owner bought it in Germany - it is, however, a U.S. spec car. He drove it around Germany for a few months - I have the 600 mile first service bill that verifys all this. He then shipped it to San Diego. It stayed in Cali until 1998. The second owner had it in garaged in Boston until 2001 or 2002 when I bought it. The car has about 116,000 original miles on it. It has not been rebuilt. The paint is about six months old and it is the original color. Also, put new RS carpet in it. HAs a period correct Momo Prototipo steering wheel and newer Recaro seats. Yes, that is the stock bumper. I took the ugly U.S. bumper trim off because it served no purpose as the nose is so low. I'm a if-it doesn't-severe-a-purpose-remove-it-kind-of-guy. I saved the trim in case the next owner wanted to put it back on. Being that it spent most of its life on the west coast it is pretty clean rust wise. The only place I had any trouble was in the trunk (or bonnet for you Landy driving folks). It is a common area for rust as the batteries are up there. ASnyway it was starting to peel up the undercoating in the very front of the trunk, so I scraped it with a wire brush and used Wurth's Rust Off (sP?) and POR-15 that area and I did the battery boxes for good measure even though they were in good shape. Hmm..what else. Stainless steel heat exchangers, rebuilt carbs, rebuilt front calipers, new H4 headlights, horn grills, euro turn signal lenses front and rear, new fuel pump, new clutch, flywheel, throwout bearing and more! I have the original owners manual, service coupon book that came with it new, and the directory of service center in Europe all in their matching red vinyl covers. It does have a few cracks in the dash, typical small oil leak, car has been sitting so the carbs could use a tuning. All in all a car in good shape for being 38 years old.

Sorry it doesn't have lockers.

Looks very similar to the one (in addition to the 1971 targa I just bought) that I have an offer in on.
