PMs responded to here, and a few on 'the 'Bay'. Perhaps some of you over there?

Truck still available!

The Ebay auction ends in a few hours, and should none of the 40-odd people 'watching' it (or the gazillions of those who have looked) not jump on it, it will still be available.

Thanks

When you PCS to Japan, are you legally obligated to liquidate your Land Rover assets? So sad!!!!

Not necessarily, (as WolfFab can attest), but Uncle Sam will only pay to store/monitor one car for me (I'm going to use that with the M3), an unused Landy sitting for two-plus years will result in heartache, and as a single guy, I'm only allowed so much cube/weight for shipping and storage.

I've exceeded my weight limit by at least 45% my last two moves. About half of the total has been garage crap. Rover parts add up quick! (financially and the weight realm)

Plus, there's a chance following this tour that I may retire shortly thereafter or even be sent to another overseas location, among other things. There are too many unknown variables.

I've been fortunate enough to always be stationed stateside (with the exception of two deployments). I always wanted to live in Germany. Hopefully you will be able to get your trucks back when you are CONUS again. Both of your trucks are extremely detailed and worth more than you sold/and are asking for. I'm still sick about missing my chance to get your 94 when it was up for sale. Hope you find an appreciative buyer!

Dude, I exceeded my 4500lb weight limit by 2k lbs - and I didn't even bring garage/rover crap.

I liquidated a lot of stuff, including all my rovers and a good portion of my fabrication tools.

Wow! I thought you'd stored it all and kept the recent NAS trucks you'd picked up.

I'm keeping and storing most of the garage/tool stuff, just shedding Rover part stash items and motorcycle-related parts not immediately needed. (Although I'm going to store three bikes with my furniture.) My plan is to take over about 4500 lb. of household furniture, etc. and leave the rest in storage stateside. As a single O-4, I'm allotted 14000# of crap, and my last move was almost 19.5K. I have no kids or wife to blame. Upon arrival and seeing my garage in VA, the movers actually said "holy crap!". (It then included a 4.6L on a stand, all the ancillaries and parts, my motorcycle lift, two giant too chests, etc. etc.) My garage in Norfolk looked a little like yours in Quantico only more disorganized.

My 110 sold itself. SafariHP is converting my NAS ST into a 110 and then storing it.

As a Marine on Oki with a wife and 3 kids I can only bring 4700lbs!

HeloBubba - I see you are leaving Newport too. Sad to see you selling my trucks twin! Good luck with the sale, and best of luck to you at your next assignment.

Thanks, Steve-

I wish I was joining you in Germany. Worked it when Tampa turned into a no-go, but sufferred the fate of the Naval Aviation types in our shared "additional training" class history. You guys made out much better.

If I'd only known a year ago. We had our 'Welcome to M$#*S" mixer last week for the new class, and now I know why you guys had been so quiet and aloof last summer!

Ha, yeah, I was supposed to go to Korea or Ft Polk originally, I asked my assignments officer who I ticked off to deserve that treatment!

Germany is awesome, granted I was only there for 6 months and then I got sent to Afghanistan.

That Rover should sell pretty quick, it really shows well, I have gawked at it more than a few times in the NWC parking lot.

Best of luck to you brother, good luck selling that gorgeous Rover!

Still for sale!

After listing it on Ebay, I've had lots of lowball (and poorly written ) offers, but nothing in the ballpark. I'm entertaining reasonable offers if you felt my initial asking price was a bit high. Give me a try, but understand that I've also had offers between $30-32K that are my fallback plan.

Thanks for all the interest, kind words, and good feedback guys.

Just hang on to it! I'm sure there is someone you know or a forum member that has the ability to store and care for it while you are gone! That truck has way too many improvements to sell if for $30-32k!

If I had the cash on hand, I would buy that truck in a second!

I have plenty of room in my garage for your truck... I will care for it and reluctantly return it to you when you arrive back in the states...

Thanks for the offers of care-taking and the kudos, gents!

BUMP- Still available, although I haven't been as active in trying to sell it this past week while prepping for the movers coming next week.

I'm out of my house at EOM, but I (and the D90) will still be in the area on leave for a while before I head overseas.

Yes, still available, and now parked in Westerly, RI!

(It's about 45 min southwest along the coast, and visitors to come and see it can try and spot Taylor Swift. I guess she just moved here.)

The house in Newport is half packed and moved-out (the going to Japan stuff), with the remainder getting taken away to storage tomorrow. I'll be hanging out with Leanne and her progeny there, traveling, or visiting family over the next six weeks, but the base of ops will be there in Westerly.
