97 D90 for sale 33K obo

I have to sell my D90. It's a 97 BRG ST with 86600 miles on it. A three owner car that has NEVER been offroaded, the second owner bought it in 2002 with 71K on it from a 65 year old lady antique dealer in SF. He then put 3K on it over a 5 year period while putting around 10K in it. I then bought it a year and a half ago, and since then have added wet okole seat covers (the original seats were in great shape, but i thought these looked amazing) and have both a full badger top with the gutter kit as well as a half cab that is khaki. The truck is absolutely immaculate with no rust, but has the following issues 1) small crack in the windshield i have been to lazy to fix 2) typical odometer issue common with d90s where it only shows the mileage 75% of the time (though it keeps accurate miles) 3) a small scratch on the passenger door

Everything else is perfect. Over the past year and a half, i have completely babied this truck. I have spared no expense on anything and everything that needed to be done (expect for the things listed above).

I am only selling this for personal reasons, and there is absolutely nothing wrong mechanically. My fiancee and I used to argue about it all the time, and as she broke off the engagement, it is a symbol of things I regret.

Ill post pics once i wash it

You regret her or the truck?

Seriously, you will regret selling it, keep the truck, join the local LR club and take it off road. And, when you get married, and have kids, they will kill you when they find out you used to own a NAS 90 and you sold it.

Thats the worst reason I have read so far about selling a Defender, you will have sellers remorse for sure.

+2.......I bought one when they first came out in 94.....first one in Pittsburgh PA area.....black on black limited edition

I sold it in 98 as I thought it was getting "complicated" to hold onto it.......one of the few things I have ever regretted. Fortunately I am back in the game and will never, ever sell it. I have three sons now and plan to pass on the disease to them.

Sometimes you don't have a choice but I would be very careful making that decision ever again.

The fact is, i don't drive it much less wheel in it. When i was young i had a bunch of CJs that i wheeled in, but i work way too much to go out and f*** up such a nice truck in my free time. Im going to keep living in SF, and really dont need a car here. It is completely ridiculous to own this here, as i dont have a garage ive spent more on vandalism maintenance" than i care to admit (chris at badger now gives me a good rate on new windows when they get slashed). Driving to tahoe Im always cold and you cant leave the top off when you park on the street, and while im glad i owned my childhood dreamcar, im over it.

I really appreciate all of the help the people on this board, but i just want this thing gone. Im sure ill want to buy it back in a few years, but for now, I couldn't be more happy than to have bmw motorcycles and the extra money in the bank.

Damn man. That sucks that you are selling it but I kind of understand. In the long run though I am sure you will miss it more than your fiance.

Selling because of a fiance? damn, my defender has suffered through divorce! that was the 1 thing i would not part with. (ex got the rangie). Keep the defender its a symbol of freedom, and will help you get another fiancee in no time. (and my present wife is sure glad I kept it.)

I'm close and will take a look if someone is interested and on the wrong coast.

But honestly, you should keep it. You could always convert it to a SW

Just a thought- it sounds as though the money isn't the biggie- so take the 90 to Tahoe, rent a storage unit, and keep it there, sans top. You will then enjoy it, and drive back and forth in whatever. When the day comes you have children, it very well will be the their childhood dream car, and unobtainable for one this nice at that time. Our 3 yo is getting potty trained at the promise of a JR Reynolds model- he has the terminal disease at 3!! And cries when one of the D's gets sold... just a thought. For that matter, rent to us others not so fortunate to be close to Tahoe- every time we go, we lust to have our s/t out there...

Mine will sit if it has to for 14 years until my boy can drive. Nice, real nice truck. Good luck on the sale but your going to kick yourself in the ass when it goes.
