John's D90 is all clean so he's feeling grumpy

Since you decided not to wheel it this weekend maybe I can come over and throw dirt at it to make you feel better

The salesmen called me back and said no go???He asked if I would offer more and I said I'll pass. 35-36 is really all I wanted to spend. Because I really want a 97 Beluga I figured another 2K was ok. I have also been looking at a clean 95 that is for sale here on the site for less but I still am hung up on a 97. As a side note, there is really no financing to be had on these trucks and with the economy the way it is I can't imagine there are too many buyers who have the funds for these trucks. I'm amazed they would let a deal go for 1,500.00. I'm sure he has a lot less in the truck.

I think you made the right move, i just got a bad vibe from the sales guys and the dealership. I am sure they will be calling you back once that truck sits for 30 days and i would tell them to pound sand

First post, just wanted to add that I was there checking it out this weekend and they've dropped the asking price to 38,9xxx. Out of my range at the moment, but if any of you are still thinking about making an offer, now's a good time. They seemed willing to deal a little when I was there.

What where your thoughts on the truck? I'm surprised they would hold out on me for $400.00.

Chad, if you can live with yellow i have a 97 with 38k miles that I am selling. Very original except for the bench being swapped out for jump seats. Clean as you will find. PM me if interested. Mike

I can see why some are saying it's been repainted; the paint for the most part looks a little too perfect when compared with how things look under the hood and the undercarriage. Yet, it does show little bits of minor rust in the usual spots (bottom of doors, hinges, etc). Overall, it looked very good, but not perfect. Not 40K perfect, anyway. But then again, I'm not a Defender expert.

Out of total curiosity, what makes everyone think it's been repainted? Just that it looks "too nice?"

The paint under the lip of the hooded is more faded than the exposed wings. It should be the other way around.

Funny, I think mine is actually like this too. That part just doesn't get washed since it's not exposed unless you have the hood opened. I'll have to double check. Maybe I'll stop by on my way home and give this truck a quick inspection.

i bet there isnt a clear line (if you wipe off the dirt) between the two like there is on this truck. Im no expert on body work or resprays but it made me look twice.

Thanks Reese, They called me the other day and asked what was my final offer. I said the same as before. He said he would call me back. Haven't heard from them?? I think they are playing games. On a different note. I was in South florida earlier this week and stopped by Brit-rover. Meet Paul and saw several of his D-90's. Great guy and has some very nice trucks. I really like the LE D-90 after seeing one.
