Anyone have a good recommendation for transport from Maine to NC? I'm out of free weekends for the next month though after reading Doug's posts from his journey I'm tempted to make the trip down myself anyway. It just occurred to me that last time I made the round trip drive to Maine it was in a 97 discovery loaned to me by my brother because we weren't sure my 95 d-90 was up for it (it was only 5 though). He then ran my defender into a prematurely parked Astro. We waited for parts for 5 months to get it right again, during which time I really enjoyed driving his disco.
Thanks,
Brandon

I do know a good transport company if you need a recommendation.

I can also quite possibly get the truck part/most of the way like I mentioned - I am due for another trip myself.

I have family in Philly so that's an easy trip for me all things considered.

Doug

PM'ed - I do know a great transport place right here in Maine and they do a lot of East coast Maine to Florida and the like. This time of year they start hauling south so it may be a great time to jump on the back of a partial load?

Back up for sale - nothing terrible, no big stories.... just didn't work out timing and logistically.

Those interested before I will try and shoot you a PM/Email. Please do the same to me. Thanks.

Truck is being partially painted and detailed. If it goes too long I will be refinishing the TWR Lightstone/dark piping seats properly as well.

Thanks Brandon. Same back to you! Hell of a nice guy.

No worries in any way - it's a great truck to own at the end of all of it so I am happy either way. I keep gathering parts to build my hybrid franken-Defender so it's all good!

In very good shape. Taken to trails twice. Has very nice scale articulation, led lights front and back, spare tire, traxxas plugs, will come with a battery, full 4wd. 27t motor .

Had a lot of people asking so here's a link to overall shots (truck is a little dirty) and a quick video (shows the bubbles on the tailgate right after I scraped them down to solid metal):

Pics showing the underside which is very dirty - but you can see the condition of things (also a couple shots of the crusty side skirt bracket I mentioned before) also a couple shots of the new seats in my shop under fluorescent lights so the color is a little off:
