'95 ST Red 56k miles $25,000 (new price)

Price reduced to $25,000. The price reduction, $1600, will almost pay for a new Badger top.

I have decided to sell my beloved '95 ST. I'm not driving her much and have always wanted a IIa. I can't justify two rovers. Asking $25,000. Will be glad to listen to offers but just realize that I can say no.

Pictures and details at www.thecasteels.com/rover/rover.htm

This ad will also be placed on lrx.com and solaros.com. And if I don't sell will eventually make it onto ebay. I want to give the enthusiasts a shot at it first.

Thanks Jonathon. Not yet. I might after a few months and after trying autotrader and ebay but she's only been advertised for a day so far.

John,

Since you are looking for an older Series truck, perhaps you would consider a trade for my S-3? Dual air lockers, winch, hardened GBR axles, low range t-case gear, and about $20,000 in mods over the last 3 three years..... It's a bit rough on the outside but would drive right over the hood of your D-90.

Just a thought. I have three off road vehicles so....

If you profile pic is the vehicle then it is certainly very nice. But I want a metal dash. More specifically I want to find a IIa that needs saving. (I want to personally build up a rover on a galvanized frame.)

Just something I've always wanted to do and I'll never have a better time than now to do it. -John

John - another place to post cars for sale is www.craigslist.org - I sold my Mini Cooper S in a week after listing it in the Auto Trader and paper for two months - best of all its a free listing.

It sounded like Ken and Bill at Bear Valley were pretty interested in your truck - I gave it a high recommendation. They are always trying to find good clean d-90's because they get so many requests for them.

John,

No problem. I completely understand what you want to do, and that is in fact how I ended up buying my Series III. In truth I have no desire to sell the vehicle, but my wife wants it gone so every year I make some half assed offer like the one above that I know no one would possibly accept so I can look at her with a straight face and tell her I tried to sell it but failed.

Thanks for helping me get through 2005. Next year I intend to attempt a trade for a 2005 Range Rover.....wish me absolutely no luck....)

Michael

Maybe I just haven't waited long enough yet. I turned down an offer for $23,000 during the first week this Rover was for sale. Now I'm beginning to wonder if that was the right move. While there has been some interest I really thought I had a very fair price on this Defender.

If you've sold a Defender in the last year or so where did you sell it? Local paper, Online ads, ebay? Frankly I'd rather not deal with ebay as I've been taken once and I've read of a number of non payment on car sales.

Have you had a good experience selling a high priced car on ebay?

I appreciate any help and I'm sure others would like some direction in selling their Rovers.

John

John,
I found mine on a street corner before it even hit the paper. I do have a buddy that buys off ebay, but he finds the vehicle there and goes to see it to buy it. I think the timing might be off right now (with gas and all). If you can wait to move it, posting it in a paper farther north (as winter rolls in) may help, or see what a dealer would give you for it.

Good luck, happy you're staying with a rover!

Right now most of the '94's & '95s out there are priced pretty high, I thought, in my searching around over the past 2 weeks looking for a possible replacement. Somehting that suprised me though was the '97's are taking a hit on price. Maybe when the seasons change it will flip back. I was just pretty supriced at the prices I was seeing on all 3 year models.

Follow-up Post:

Sorry I want to add that I was speaking in general and I am not saying that anyone truck in perticular is ir is not worth their price.
