It's an auto, so she won't mind you going slightly over budget - I say slightly over budget because your budget should already be in the 20's if you're looking for a solid truck WITHOUT rust issues. The 1997s go for a premium because of the auto - this one has auto, galvanized chassis, etc. Good luck finding a comparable at that price point!

x2 dude...you will not find a quality truck at these prices too often. Trust me, after 3+ years of waiting I know.

Let your wife kill you... You will die with a smile on your face, since you will have a sweet 90 in the garage.

DUDE....Just do it! No pressure, but any other truck you buy for low 20's will need a Galvy chassis....Just sayin' - trying to help you make the right decision here.....

$20K truck purchase...$3500 galvy chassis + Install $2K + replace other stuff???? $500 = $26K!!!!!!!!

CAN'T BEAT IT.

Not to mention all the other stuff that will nickel and dime you to death - like electrics, corroded fasteners, tired mechanical bits, etc.

Spend your money now or later...

The auto conversion in parts alone is over 5K.

The thumbnail pics when viewed on my phone make this look like one of those scale models. Pretty. BUMP.

That's it? Just "sold" after all the work we did getting this sold for you? At least tell us where it's going and if it's someone we know!

It's going to me! I'm a "new guy", but ... I did find it here and all y'all DEFINITELY helped me make up my mind. This group does quite a convincing job! It's going to the Seattle area, where it will live in Bell Town. It's my first Defender. I'm VERY excited! I'll post more when it's not the crack of dawn. I will have A LOT of questions!

No, I really thought about it, but I'm in the middle of moving from Mexico to Seattle. It's just more than I really want to tangle with, right now. I'm also unfamiliar with the truck and don't want to start out by pushing it over 2000 miles, in a day or two.

I'm going to have it shipped, where I plan to learn about it ... and enjoy it!
