Cant be Plymouth Blue, either. Biarritz Blue maybe? Dont know if Ive seen that.

Shane, I'm looking for more of a project LWB aka one with a bad motor! Yours is too nice for my needs but I will pass the word along to anyone I hear looking.

Good luck with sale.

How about a respray?
I just don't recall seeing that colour on RRC.
If it is original, might be one of those one off paint jobs that LRNA orders from time to time.
I like it!

It was stated earlier that this truck was resprayed:
http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...49&postcount=9

But Ron also said he's seen 2 RRCs in this color before, so it must have at least been available for special order as you state:
http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...48&postcount=8

Regardless, as discussed its a fantastic color for an RRC...would be nice to get to the bottom of the factory paint mystery though.

I've seen it in person, crawled all over it, it blew my mind but it's the original color. As you may know Arles didn't always hold up well, yes at some point a few years back it was repainted but the same color. Door jambs are original paint, under the hood original paint, etc. This truck is legit and could be 1 of 1.

Very cool. Was it still resprayed single-stage, or base/clearcoat?

Base/clear it appears, which will hold up better than original Arles single stage.

I am pretty sure the only 1995 with Ash Gray interior were the 200 special 25th Anniversary LWB models. Blue carpet? I'd have to see it to believe it.
All interiors were either Sorrel or Lightstone with the traditional Bokhara plastics.

I saw it in person, too.
But I was too tired to crawl all over it...would love to see it again.

It does also have the 25th badge on the tailgate, although it appears to have been reinstalled on the opposite side after the respray. But the grey interior is legit and very much appears 100% original to this vehicle.

Once I first heard of this truck, I too called BS. Once I saw it in person, I was shocked. The only other possibility I could think of it was an Aspen Silver special edition that was very thoroughly and professionally repainted early on in its life. But I'm doubtful, because I seem to remember seeing the real paint code sticker on the radiator support that says "ARLES"

Do the headrests have the embossed 25th logo? That would anchor it.

Honestly I believe that Rover would do anything at that point to move the old classics with the P38 sitting next to it in the showrooms.

The headrest and the 25ths had black interior with grey piping made me think it wasn't a 25th. It may be, but it doesn't resemble a 25th. I'm no classic expert though.

Interior on the 25th and the Aspen differed in two ways- no logo on the headrests and piping was same color as the rest of the seat.

I would certainly think that if you had the cheese to order an Aspen that a little more would get you whatever color you wanted.

This truck is worth way more than asking price.

Gents,

You all have me curious as hell about the paint. I have looked all over this vehicle for signs of a re-paint at some point and I can't find any evidence. It has had a clear-coat out on it at some point which is evident around the door handles. I'm not an expert on Range Rover colors but I have had multiple people look at it and all have said it appears to be original. I went back out a few minutes ago and I couldn't find the word ARLES on the radiator support but I may not have been looking in the right area.

The headrests do not have the embossed 25th Anniversary symbol.

I'm definitely not trying to hide anything on this vehicle or portray it as something it is not. The only reason I am selling is to focus on a Defender project I am having done. I'm hoping someone who appreciates the RRC ends up with it. I love all the insight on this vehicle. Thanks and keep it coming!

I didn't know that, mine is just the basic 25th. I thought they all came in Aspen Silver with black interior.

Maybe Shane might be willing to throw in a 2D Briggs for the lucky buyer!
